Warning; we have been approached several times by accounts that pretend to be Meta with an account deletion message. Do not fall for this harassment!

UPDATE!

Asalamu alaikum dear all,

This morning we received a message, seemingly from Meta, saying they will delete our accounts unless we file a complaint. After receiving 4 of these messages from different users, of which one was supposedly not on Facebook, we became suspicious. We have taken the following steps:

1. We reported all of these accounts to Meta as impersonating a business (Meta)
2. We have looked at the profiles and contacted the place of business of these profiles to inform them of harassment by this person (by name!).
3. We have changed our password and removed any payment methods from our accounts.

SO, if you find any strange, extreme or anti-Palestinian content on our pages, know that these do NOT come from us but from hackers instead. Please do notify us immediately through messengers so we can take the appropriate action inshallah. And if we disappear, then know Meta has shut us down.

We have received a message from Meta saying they will permanently delete our accounts due to violation of their rules. Without specifying which rule we violated and which post it was that violated the rule, it comes down to Meta silencing every pro-Palestinian voice. This is directly against the law of freedom of speech that has always been flaunted and held high by Western media. We suppose that this law too is only applied when it suits them.

They target business pages in particular because they know people’s livelihood depends on it, as does ours. Nevertheless, we will NOT sell out our principles for business. All provisions come from Allah (swt), and if this is the manner in which we will be tested, it would be a light test! Allah (swt) says:

“Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, (2:155)

So, if we disappear then know we did not close down, but are accounts were shut down by Meta.
