We Are Tired

The citizens of Abyei are exhausted. What was once meant to be a place of opportunity has become a place where leaders enrich themselves instead of serving the people. Abyei is no longer an area where citizens dream of working for the common good; it has become a place where everyone in power seeks to loot properties, transfer wealth into personal accounts, and build private empires while the community suffers.

We are tired of leadership that ignores the needs of the people.
- Abyei has no proper construction.
- Abyei has no good roads.
- Abyei has no decent living conditions for its citizens.

All of this is because personal interests and tribal loyalties are promoted above the needs of the people. We are tired of ruling parties that care more about clans than qualifications. We are tired of governments that divide us by identity, asking who our father is, who our mother is, and where we come from, instead of asking what we can contribute.

Where does our money go? Who eats our resources while citizens remain poor? Every year we are promised change, but every year we are betrayed. The youth are given weapons instead of opportunities. They are taught how to fight, not how to build. The indigenous land of Abyei is neglected while leaders chase their own ambitions.

We are tired of tribalism. We are tired of corruption. We are tired of governments that never listen. We are tired of being ruled by selfish interests instead of qualifications. We are tired of waiting for God to send us a leader who will finally make us proud.

What we demand is simple:
- Leadership that values qualifications over tribal identity.
- Development that serves the people, not the pockets of the few.
- Roads, schools, and opportunities for youth.
- A government that unites instead of divides.

Until then, the cry of Abyei remains the same: We are tired.

This evening we received the joyful update that the legend, 𝐉𝐨𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐚𝐫, has finally found his soulmate.

We couldn’t be happier to celebrate this incredible milestone with him.
Here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of happiness together.
