We open a safe space for mothers to reflect on the good old debate, team breastfeeding or pumpingâŚ
What about ?
âYou have probably already heard this statement before, that breast milk is the best source of nutrients for a baby. Some have even called it the living âliquid gold.â Not only that, but generally, breastfeeding creates a bonding experience between you and your child because it promotes skin-to-skin contact, more holding and therefore more comfort, security, and overall closeness.
That begs the question⌠If breast feeding is a no brainer, if itâs the best way to feed your baby, why do people resort to breast pumping? Why would people deny their baby the best source of nutrients? The best form of connection?â

Last week, Olife experiences held a retreat for Mamaâs to be at the Oracle Space at . A day filled with wisdom and knowledge, leaving us with so much to reflect on.
âChildbirth is a completely natural process. It can be a wonderful, uplifting, and euphoric event if one goes into it with a relaxed state of mind, one that is fuelled by intuitive knowledge and stilled by a deep sense of connection and empowerment.
Though it may seem frightening and though it may feel unfamiliar, it is familiar to your body... and the more you tune in, the more you will have trust that you will know exactly what to do. The more you will realise that this is a journey of growth. Work on programming your brain to recognize that birth can be a good experience... that the pain is not excessive, that the pain does not compare to the fact that a little human is being brought into this world.â

đHow much we take from an experience has to do with how deeply we allow ourselves to feelđ
It is the only in which we can experience the beauty that is all around us. Many people think of feeling as a state of mind, but it is actually the result of the physical changes that occur inside our bodies.
Feelings are created by emotions. An energy in motion. A voice of our conscience. Many people also mistake feelings for emotions, but in truth, feelings are much more subtle. They are pure, and they are not coloured by our emotions.
To feel is to grow, and to welcome all the emotions that come crashing in. To feel is to be alive.
When was the last time you allowed yourself to feel?
When was the last time you truly felt alive?

Meet Sawsan Nashaat, one of our retreat specialists. A childbirth educator, birth and Postpartum Doula, lactation, Hypnobirthing and birth trauma counselor.
âIn our times, pain is a very bad word. Its mention is sufficient to induce panic attacks in a pregnant woman. The pain of childbirth, so unfamiliar and mysterious, triggers high levels of anxiety. This is unsurprising given that our knowledge of childbirth comes from the terrible stories we hear growing up or the media dramatization of it. I do not know any woman my age who grew up witnessing any woman in her family giving birth comfortably or happily (or at all)
Back in the day, birth was normal and the women no more questioned their bodies ability to birth than we question today our bodies ability to digest food. They could call it âpainfulâ all they want and it wouldnât have been so frightening like it is today. For those reasons I think using other words like the âexertionâ or âintensityâ of birth in our times is wiser; they are not as scary and are also accurate.â
