IUSD (PDP module) in collaboration with TU - Berlin (Towards Greener Egyptian City Project) was honored to welcome Arch. Kareem Ibrahim, CEO of Takween Integrated Community Development , and an Agha Khan winner as part of the input for the workshop of the Nile St. Market in Ras El Barr. His interesting input included different open spaces of Egypt’s Public Library in Ezzbet El Borg and Bent El Shatee Park in Damietta.

في إنجاز جديد يعكس التميز الأكاديمى والبحثى لبرنامج العمران المتكامل والتصميم المستدام (IUSD) بجامعة عين شمس ، تحت رعاية الأستاذ الدكتور محمد ضياء زين العابدين، رئيس جامعة عين شمس، حقق الباحث أحمد بدر الدين إنجازًا عالميًا بحصوله على المركز الثاني في جائزة DAIDA Foundation العالمية لأطروحات العمران، والتي شهدت منافسة قوية بمشاركة 40 أطروحة من 22 مؤسسة أكاديمية في 11 دولة، تحت عنوان “التمدن والطبيعة: معالجة التناقض”.

وجاء هذا التكريم عن أطروحته المتميزة “تقييم تدخلات التصميم الحضري المراعية لندرة المياه في المواقع التاريخية: منطقة الخليفة بالقاهرة التاريخية كدراسة حالة" والتي سلطت الضوء على استراتيجيات مبتكرة للحفاظ على المياه في النسيج العمراني التراثي.

كما حصل الباحث أحمد بدر الدين على منحة إضافية لتمويل تنفيذ الجانب التطبيقى من أطروحته، وذلك سيتيح له تنفيذ أفكاره الرائدة على أرض الواقع في القاهرة، مما يعزز من تأثير أبحاثه في مجال التصميم الحضري المستدام.

ويعكس هذا الإنجاز الجهود الدؤوبة التي بذلها الباحث، إلى جانب الدعم والتوجيه العلمي الذي تلقاه من أساتذته المشرفين: وهم الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد سامي، الأستاذة الدكتورة ليوني فيشر، والدكتورة سامية سعد.

كما يعكس حرص فريق عمل برنامج IUSD بقيادة الأستاذ الدكتور محمد صالحين و المنسقين د. ميرهام قلج وم. أنجى سمير على دعم طلبة البرنامج ليس فقط لإتمام متطلبات شهاداتهم الأكاديمية ولكن أيضًا في اكتساب التقدير على الساحة الدولية.

The highlight of Day 3 at WUF12 was a long-awaited reunion of the IUSD family. This gathering included the founders, alumni from 12 different intakes, current students from two MSc intakes, and representatives from the first PhD intake. It was a moment of celebration, connection, and shared memories, bringing together people who have contributed to the legacy and ongoing journey of IUSD.

Currently, IUSD students are showcasing their work from the Integrated Case Study Module at “Rawdet Alsayeda”. Arch. Mohamed Ahmed Elkhateeb, the project's urban and architectural designer, and Dr. Baher El-Shaarawy, Vice Chairman at the Urban Development Fund (U.D.F), and technical advisor to the Prime Minister, are in attendance. We also have a delegation from Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) joining us. Exciting presentations ahead!

حاليًا، يقوم طلاب IUSD بعرض مشاريعهم من مقررحالة الدراسة المتكاملة في مشروع روضة السيدة بحضور المهندس محمد أحمد الخطيب المصمم العمراني والمعماري للمشروع ، و د.باهر الشعراوي، نائب رئيس مجلس ادارة صندوق التطوير الحضري ومستشار فني بمكتب رئيس الوزراء. كما يحضر وفد من جامعة ناميبيا للعلوم والتكنولوجيا (NUST)
