Through the little kiosk window of my friends cake stall...her first customer of the morning 😆 this is at the edge of Poole Quay and Baiter. She bakes all the brownies etc herself, its an old horse box. It's the perfect location for a cuppa and snack on a sunny day after walking along the seafront. Every monday, my grandchild Matilda is with me - her granny 💓 It's our favourite day of the week. She is such a kind, stubborn, lovely, smart, funny and curious little girl.
She is now one year and learning new things every day.
To have a grandchild is to hold your own child once again 💝

115 days ago I posted about my journey to become a healthier me, which included walking everyday and cutting back on drinking. Happy to report I’m still walking, down 18 lbs since December, and 185 days alcohol free! Thank you everyone for all the encouragement on my original post! We caught this sunset on last night’s walk. This little fellow has been pecking on my window for a week now. I think he wants in. Northeast Missouri. Update: for all concerned over this bird being hungry, we have a feeder out with black oil sunflower seeds and he goes to eat on another side of the house and comes back to pester me!

Dear armchair travellers,
In front of me is this beautiful view of golden fields where the hay has just been cut and fills the air around us with a good earthy scent.
Behind me is the Teatro del Silenzio, the open air theater placed in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by endless Tuscan hills.
To my right is a giant hut where weary men, from the day spent in the blinding sun, aboard huge tractors arrange bales of hay in tall columns up to the roof.
To my left is my husband Giovanni. His blue eyes, at the height of endurance, are telling me without speaking: what are we doing here? Why can't we just stay home on the couch and watch the European football championship? Please tell him what we are doing here!😍
