NGL, this s**t is straight-up depressing.

That image nails it: the scene devouring itself at the table, just like the Last Supper — except this time the disciples are stabbing each other in the back while the corporates count the ticket money.

London is blessed (and cursed) with endless DNB nights. The curse? Too many big events are run by corporate machines or backed by serious cash. On paper it looks harmless. In reality, it crushes the independents, leaving real promoters, crews, DJs and MCs fighting for scraps and visibility.

In this brutal economic and cultural climate, it makes zero f**king sense that indie promoters refuse to talk to each other. Clashing dates on the same night? Everyone bleeds out. Crowds get split, vibes die, bills flop, and the scene as a whole gets weaker.

The only way to “win” right now is to throw stupid money at it, sell your soul to the corporates, or actually start working together to protect and grow the underground.
Too many of you — DJs, MCs, promoters, even punters — have gone full “me first.” In this dog-eat-dog world it’s understandable, but people seem to be forgetting the mutual support, the word-of-mouth, the shared floors and pirate radio energy that built this scene in the first place. Without that foundation, the gentrification and popification will keep stripping away the raw, ugly, beautiful ingredients that made DNB what it is.

You can still hit the super-festivals with 100 big names and flashy production. No one’s stopping you. But if someone’s putting on a proper grassroots night — low-cost, sometimes even free — you need to show the f**k up. Buy the ticket. Bring your people. Dance like it matters. Discover new talent. Help keep the community alive.

Otherwise this whole thing will vanish, replaced by sterile, sponsored, last-supper bulls**t where the bass is safe, the crowd is passive, and the soul is long gone.

So this Friday,13th March, we return to Bristol, once upon a time our home from home. Really happy to be back with some of our favourite people. We will be bringing to you, a special 2hr b2b with the ginger maestro !!
