4 года назад я был увлечен деревом и изделиями из него.

Но мир за 4 года поменялся и теперь меня влекут научные достижения, новые технологии, предпринимательство, стартапы, инновации и искусственный интеллект.

Все говорят о генеративном ИИ, верно? ChatGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney... Кажется, будто каждый день появляется новый инструмент, который может создавать тексты, картинки, музыку, видео - да что угодно! - лучше и быстрее человека.

Но давайте начистоту: что ВООБЩЕ такое этот генеративный ИИ и почему вокруг него столько новостей? 🤔

На пальцах: это ИИ-системы, которчые могут генерировать (ключевое слово именно ГЕНЕРАЦИЯ, то есть СОЗИДАНИЕ) новый контент на основе обучения на огромных массивах данных.

Генеративный ИИ не просто находит и копируют что-то готовое, а создает уникальные, никогда раньше не существовавшие артефакты.

Окей, но разве это не просто новый виток развития технологий? Почему все кричат о революции?

А вот тут начинается самое интересное. Генеративный ИИ - это потенциальный катализатор фундаментальных сдвигов в нашей философии, экономике, социальных отношениях.
Это вызов самим основам нашего мировоззрения.

Вы задумывались: что такое разум? что делает нас людьми? в чем суть творчества и самовыражения?

И вот теперь у нас есть машины, способные генерировать осмысленные тексты, образы, мелодии - то, что мы привыкли считать проявлением человеческого интеллекта и духа. Что это значит для нашего самоопределения как вида?

Если ИИ может создавать произведения искусства не хуже человека - что тогда отличает нас от машин? Нужно ли нам переосмыслить само понятие "человечности"?

Это настоящая философская революция, которая заставит нас переосмыслить, что значит быть человеком в мире умных машин.

Давайте задавать правильные вопросы, так мы будем лучше подготовлены к будущему, которое стремительно становится настоящим.

So much has happened recently since moving from Ukraine.

The startup has taken an unexpected turn. In parallel with working on a startup, I began to participate in the development and research of new projects:

1) Toronto Smart City. I'm helping a partner who is working with Toronto City Hall to implement smart city systems. That is, we hang a sensor on each traffic light that transmits information to the server in real time, this information is processed and conclusions are drawn from it on how to improve people's lives.

2) An application for banks in Canada that allows us to “digitize” any branch using the iPhone’s lidar and after that we can virtually change the interior there.

3) Smart Grid Soft for Toronto. We collect information from communication nodes (electricity, sewerage, water supply, etc.) and collect it into a single database

4) Parametric algorithms for architects that simplify work by automating repetitive actions

5) Recycling app. An application that, based on a laser scanner and a point cloud, recognizes information about buildings that developers want to rebuild or demolish. The application recognizes the types of materials, their quantity, the environmental benefits of recycling. In addition, the application finds contractors who can take these materials for processing or sale. This is all done within one day and can save architects and builders up to 500 hours of work time, accelerates the process of reuse/recycle materials and goods, minimizes construction waste and reduces CO2 emissions.

6) Assistance in BIM modeling of a 30-story building in New York, we are responsible for structural loads.

I felt like I was suffocating.
My heart was pounding. Thoughts raced like a bull in a rodeo.
I have never felt such excitement in my life.

Yesterday was my first pitch to a California investor. They have about 4,000 companies in their portfolio, more than 40 "unicorns"! The same one that he wrote to me in December. Naturally, in English.

I PREPARED FOR 45 DAYS! Like never before in my life. I redid the presentation 100 times, I answered the most tricky questions with an English teacher, I rehearsed in front of the mirror and read tons of information about the specifics of the pitch to investors from the valley.

And here I am sitting before the meeting and from excitement I do not have enough air. Call, exchange of greetings and I begin the story.

In 5-7 minutes I need to tell everything that I have been doing for the last 15 months. Briefly and clearly state why, out of hundreds of startups, they should invest in me. But as soon as I start - the jitters are like and I catch zen.

Everything goes very smoothly, sometimes I am interrupted by exclamations: “Sounds good!”

The meeting lasts 30 minutes and we are given consent! Naturally, there are conditions and a lot of things need to be checked, and the attraction itself can be delayed for 6 months, but I managed to convince the investor!

It's just a delight! I am very satisfied! I don’t believe myself that I switched from a carpentry workshop to digital technologies and a start-up in construction.

Study, study and more study. That's what helps the most right now.

And this euphoria after such hard work is especially sweet)

Well, then do not slow down the pace and do not stop! To be afraid, to make mistakes, but to act.

“I'm tired, I'm leaving.” These were the words of my partner.

Have you ever been hit on the head with a shovel? I am not there either, but the sensations and the sound are probably exactly the same.

Failures, mistakes, jambs, dead ends, failures and disappointments. All this is an indispensable companion to any unexplored area.

I have a lot of this stuff for 14 months of work on startups!

And you know what? I am grateful to those people who refuse me. Any "no" is a new opportunity. After each “not interesting” or “not my profile”, you find new strength and energy to do better.

This makes it harder to take a hit. Teaches the correct attitude towards these very refusals.

After all, everything that develops us is either inconvenient or risky.

Try to get 100 rejections within a year, from investors, partners, teams, etc. After this, nothing is scary. The skin becomes impenetrable and you don't include emotions.

Perseverance. Deal with difficulties, not avoid them. This is the superpower of any entrepreneur.

You always find a solution. You just need to turn on that very superpower of perseverance.
By the way, I was not accepted into the y-combinator.
In September, I applied as a solo founder, and this is a serious reason for refusal🤷‍♂️

Of course, I found a partner. I didn’t leave my computer for three weeks and did about 30 interviews.

Now about the progress.
▪️ Made the first prototype of the service! He works! Putting the fitback together and refining it. ▪️ We have deployed a neural network, we are already enriching our algorithm with it. There is such magic! I will show you soon
▪️ Began to cooperate with Leroy Merlin, they give us information about their products.
▪️We are testing the markets of the EU and the United States.

What are we looking for now:

We went to work even harder!

Working on a startup turns everything I knew about work before.

It turned out that my efficiency is 30 percent of the efficiency that is possible.

Several new insights:

Everything is created twice - first on a sheet and in the form of a plan, and then in the form of implementation in the world. This applies to both work and relationships and entertainment and leisure.

Discipline is free will to choose your thoughts.

Success depends on how quickly you give up work that leads to failure.

Lack of proof is not proof of absence.

We make a decision from one picture of the world (before experience) and evaluate a decision from another (with experience) And we look from the present to the past and ask: "How could I have missed this?"

The easy availability of information does not mean that it is harmless.

Only thoughts are in our power. Not external events.

Man is a process. It always flows from point A to point B.

Our consciousness is a garden. Regardless of whether you plant something, something will grow there anyway.

Each arrow that hits the target is the result of hundreds of arrows flying past.

Now I'm a few failures closer to the goal.

It is better to wash a plate of buckwheat immediately after eating.
