Is your employee working from another country — and is that arrangement actually documented?

Cross-border telework got a new EU framework in 2026, but it does not apply automatically. The 25% rule still matters, Latvia and Lithuania are not signed up, and an A1 certificate is still required.

Here is what employers need to document in the contract addendum:

How long has your "freelancer" actually been with you?

If the answer is over a year, they work only for your company, use your tools and attend your team meetings — the contract title is not what decides the legal relationship. The facts do.

The EU Platform Work Directive lands on 2 December 2026, but Estonia's Employment Contracts Act §1 already creates the same employment presumption today.

Five-question audit and what a compliant service contract must include:

Have you checked how salary is stored in your employment contracts lately?

If it's written as "salary 1,800 euros per month" buried in paragraph 3, you're not alone — but the Pay Transparency Directive gives you until June 7, 2026 to fix it.

Here's a five-point audit to get your contracts and HR data ready before the deadline:

Spring hiring season is here, and if you're an HR lead looking at 8 new people joining in the next few weeks, you know what that means:

📄 40+ documents to prepare
📝 Employment contracts to customize
✍️ Six different forms per person
😰 The constant worry you copied the wrong salary or start date

Here's the thing: this is exactly the part of onboarding that's easiest to automate.

Not with some massive IT project. Just six reusable templates and a simple spreadsheet.

One row per new hire → Six documents per person, ready to sign in minutes.

Plus, with the EU Pay Transparency Directive kicking in June 2026, having consistent, auditable salary data in your contracts isn't just nice to have anymore—it's required.

We put together a practical guide on how to set this up (and why 2026 is the year to do it):

If you're drowning in onboarding paperwork right now, this might be your lifeline.

We just made templates in Agrello a bit smarter 🙂

You can now rename fields so they make more sense to your customer, add small hints (so no one has to guess what goes where), and use dropdowns to avoid messy manual inputs.

It’s one of those small updates that saves a surprising amount of time, especially if you’re sending the same documents over and over again or asking people to fill in fields before signing forms or contracts.

If you’re already using templates, definitely worth taking a look.

Still preparing contracts by editing old Word files and hoping nothing important got left behind?

You don't need enterprise software to fix that. Start with a template portfolio - standardize the 5-10 contracts your team uses most, and put them in one workflow for creating, sending, and signing.

Here's a practical guide on how to do it:

We like simple things. We also like native apps.

When it comes to creating templates in Agrello, we’ve kept it exactly that, simple.

Take your contract template in .docx format and open it in MS Word or Google Docs. Wherever you want a field, just add it using {{curly_brackets}}.

That’s it.

When you upload the document to Agrello, we automatically turn those into reusable fields. No extra setup, no special tools.

And most importantly, no more copy-paste from old contracts and accidentally leaving someone else’s personal data or salary in place.

Just clean, consistent documents every time.

ADOC vs EDOC — ever been confused?

If you’re working across the Baltics, you’ve probably run into this. In Latvia, the main e-signature output format is EDOC. In Lithuania, it’s ADOC.

At first sight, it can feel a bit confusing — but actually, it’s not that complicated. Technically, both are fully accepted under eIDAS and are legally compliant. Both rely on XAdES signatures, and both are container-type formats, meaning you can include multiple files inside for signing.

EDOC is used in Latvia and is a bit more flexible. ADOC is used in Lithuania and follows a more structured, regulated approach to how files are organized inside the container.

For most users, though, it doesn’t really make a difference — it all works the same.

When choosing which format to use, think about where the document will be used. If your business operates in Lithuania, local authorities will most likely expect ADOC, as their systems are built around it. If you’re in Latvia, go with EDOC. When targeting more international customers, pick a PDF instead.

Simple as that.😉

Have you tried signing a document on your phone lately?

If the flow felt slow, unclear, or full of extra steps, that friction probably is not just annoying — it is delaying agreements.

We put together a practical guide on what good mobile signing should actually look like, what usually breaks, and how to audit your current process:
