idiomARTE y Take Me To the River te invitan a una noche para conocer las historias, procesos y creaciones que dieron vida al XV Festival Madre Tierra, incluyendo el estreno del documental oficial y los videoclips de las composiciones originales Madre y Esta Tierra.

Más de 30 artistas de 11 países participaron en esta edición del festival, trabajando junto a comunidades del Azuay en un proceso de intercambio, creación colectiva y encuentro intercultural.

Join us for the final Saturday Salon in our current home before idiomARTE's upcoming move.

This edition features exhibiting artist Daniel Williams, who will lead a bilingual conversation and live drawing demonstration inspired by themes explored in his current exhibit, Antagonista.

Together we'll explore drawing as a creative practice, a tool for observation and reflection, and a way of engaging with memory, symbolism, and personal experience. The salon will conclude with a live demonstration of Daniel's process and an opportunity for questions and discussion.

En esta edición, el artista expositor Daniel Williams compartirá una conversación bilingüe y una demostración de dibujo en vivo inspiradas en los temas explorados en Antagonista.

Juntos exploraremos el dibujo como práctica creativa, herramienta de observación y reflexión, y una forma de acercarnos a la memoria, el simbolismo y la experiencia personal. El salón concluirá con una demostración en vivo del proceso creativo de Daniel y un espacio para preguntas y conversación.

After many years in our home on Mariscal Lamar, idiomARTE will be moving to a new space this August.

While our address will change, our commitment to art, culture, language learning, and community remains the same.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing our final weeks of concerts, workshops, classes, StoryJAMs, and gatherings in this house before beginning the next chapter of the idiomARTE story.

Create your own handmade cards and postcards by combining illustration, painting, and embroidery in a creative experience full of color, texture, and self-expression.

We’ll begin by illustrating and painting directly onto the cards/postcards, then add embroidered details to give each piece texture, dimension, and a unique handmade finish. ✨

Each participant will create up to 4 handmade cards or postcards to take home or gift to someone special 💌

Artist Talk + Live Demonstration with Daniel Williams

What happens when drawing becomes more than a technique?

Join artist Daniel Williams for a thought-provoking Saturday Salon exploring drawing as a ritual practice — a way of engaging with memory, mythology, symbolism, and the unseen forces that shape human experience.

Drawing from themes explored in Antagonista, Daniel will discuss how drawing can become a tool for exploration, transformation, and reconnecting with cultural memory. The conversation will touch on mythology, precolonial influences, and the stories that continue to shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.

The salon will conclude with a live demonstration of Daniel's creative process, offering a glimpse into his distinctive drawing style, which blends improvisation, symbolism, and references to precolonial cultures.

Complimentary light refreshments will be served.

Sharpen your Spanish storytelling skills while fine-tuning one of the trickiest grammar areas for learners: the past tenses.

In this dynamic 4-day workshop, participants will explore how to describe events, people, and places in the past using narrative vocabulary, storytelling techniques, and the correct use of the past simple and past imperfect tenses.

You will learn:
• How to structure a story in Spanish
• Connectors to link ideas naturally and smoothly
• Common mistakes and how to avoid them
• When and how to use the different past tenses correctly
