Pudimos dar a conocer parte de la oferta turística en la ruralidad de Cuenca a empresarios turísticos de Quito y Estados Unidos para que se conozca más del destino Cuenca.

No buscamos simplemente aumentar el número de visitantes, buscamos aumentar el número de visitantes que buscan opciones de turismo comunitario y turismo sostenible que representen más para su visita y para los territorios visitados. Es por esto que día a día trabajamos en .

It was a beautiful and enriching experience along the bee route in Sinincay, Cuenca.

We were able to showcase part of Cuenca’s rural tourism offerings to tourism professionals from Quito and the United States, helping raise awareness of Cuenca as a destination.

We’re not just looking to increase the number of visitors — we aim to attract more travelers who seek community-based and sustainable tourism experiences that offer deeper meaning for both them and the places they visit. That’s what drives our work every day at .

🇪🇨🇪🇸ES: El 10 de agosto de 1809 marcó el inicio del proceso independentista del Ecuador. Esa madrugada, un grupo de intelectuales criollos, reunidos en la casa de Manuela Cañizares, derrocó sin derramamiento de sangre al presidente colonial, Manuel Ruiz de Castilla, y proclamó la Junta Soberana de Gobierno, presidida por Juan Pío Montúfar y con José Cuero y Caicedo como vicepresidente .

En plena incertidumbre política en España, esta movida se ocultó bajo una aparente lealtad a Fernando VII, lo que se conoce como “máscara de Fernando VII” . Gracias al apoyo de soldados que pasaron al bando insurgente, el acto se realizó sin conflictos armados .

Manuela Cañizares jugó un papel clave: fue anfitriona y motivadora del grupo —se le atribuye la frase “¡Cobardes, hombres nacidos para la servidumbre! ¿De qué tenéis miedo? ¡No hay tiempo que perder!” .

Aunque la Junta fue disuelta poco tiempo después por la reacción realista, el grito del 10 de agosto fue el germen del independentismo sudamericano, por lo que Quito también fue llamada “Luz de América” .

That early morning, a group of Creole intellectuals, gathered at the house in Manuela Cañizares, overthrew the colonial president, Manuel Ruiz de Castilla, without bloodshed, and proclaimed the Sovereign Governing Board, chaired by Juan Pío Montúfar and José Cuero y Caicedo as vice president .

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH OF ECUADOR:

Ecuador will require a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate to travelers coming from Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil starting May 12, 2025.

To strengthen the prevention and control of the circulation of the Yellow Fever (YF) virus, and in compliance with the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005), Ecuador will implement the mandatory requirement to present the International Certificate of Vaccination against this disease upon arrival in the country, starting May 12, 2025.

This requirement applies to travelers coming from Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil.

This requirement applies to:
- Travelers who are nationals or residents of Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, or Brazil.
- Travelers of any nationality or residency who have spent more than 10 days in transit or visiting any of the above-mentioned countries prior to entering Ecuador.

The certificate must indicate that the vaccine was administered at least 10 days before traveling. The yellow fever vaccine provides lifelong immunity.

If you are an Ecuadorian citizen or resident without a history of yellow fever vaccination and plan to travel to high-risk areas in the Ecuadorian Amazon (Sucumbíos, Orellana, Napo, Pastaza, Morona Santiago, and Zamora Chinchipe), you must get vaccinated at least 10 days prior to your trip.

The Ecuadorian government recommends that travelers take all necessary precautions, comply with this regulation, and plan their trips in advance, ensuring they have a valid International Certificate of Vaccination.

CUENCA SOSTENIBLE

Al momento de empezar con este proyecto llamado BilDev Tours, una cosa estaba clara y es que quería que BilDev Tours sea una operadora de turismo sustentable y sostenible, pues si el turismo no cumple con esto, entonces no debería hacerse. Con el tiempo, ya me di cuenta de que un emprendimiento no es solo deseos y un par de conocimientos, es muchísimo más, y que para crecer hay que aprender y aprender.

Al comienzo desconocía mucho, pero a medida que fui aprendiendo me di cuenta de que desconocía más y más cosas. Hoy en día sigo aprendiendo, manteniendo el enfoque inicial, que es ser una operadora de turismo con enfoque en la sustentabilidad y sostenibilidad de los territorios y sus culturas.

La semana pasada participamos en el programa "Mi negocio verde", parte del proyecto "Cuenca Sostenible" que lleva a cabo el Municipio de Cuenca desde .ep, y aprendimos varias herramientas sobre lo que requiere ser un negocio verde. Esperamos poder seguir aprendiendo junto a otros emprendimientos, creciendo y llevando Cuenca a otro nivel, porque sin duda alguna Cuenca puede ser no solo ejemplo para el Ecuador, sino también para el mundo.

When I started this project called BilDev Tours, one thing was clear: I wanted BilDev Tours to be a sustainable and responsible tourism operator. If tourism does not meet these criteria, then it should not be done. Over time, I realized that running a business is not just about having dreams and a bit of knowledge; it’s much more than that, and in order to grow, one must keep learning and learning.

At the beginning, I knew very little, but as I learned, I discovered that there was even more I didn't know. Today, I keep myself learning, maintaining the initial focus: to be a tourism operator with an emphasis on the sustainability of territories and their cultures.

Last week, we participated in the 'My Green Business' program, part of the 'Sustainable Cuenca' project led by the Municipality of Cuenca. We learned several tools about what it takes to be a green business. We hope to continue learning alongside other entrepreneurs, growing, and taking Cuenca to the next level.
