Dear Destination Chaos Attendees,

Since announcing the postponement of DC back in early December, we have done our very best to manage every concern and request. Our hope was that most, if not all, of you would still want to attend in October, but we fully understand that not everyone could accommodate the schedule change.

As you know, we have purchased and fully paid for AIG's TravelGuard insurance policy for every US guest with the understanding that each of you would be covered in the event of postponement or other worst-case scenarios. However, the AIG filing process has been painful and inexplicably bizarre and we have seen again and again the uneven application of their process and policies. Some DC guests have filed successful claims, but AIG has gone to great lengths to deny most of them, despite their similarities. We believe this violates insurance law and have begun the process of what will likely become a legal action, in order to ensure that everyone who wished to exercise the insurance policy purchased for just this sort of reason, will be able to do so assured in the knowledge that they are as covered as AIG told us you would be when they sold us these very expensive policies on your behalf.

So what’s next?

1. In the next few days, AIG will receive a demand letter, which will give them time to comply. This is typically 30 days.
2. If AIG settles at that time, each of you will receive the product of that settlement towards your paid-in DC experience.
3. If AIG ignores or denies our timely request, we will commence legal action against AIG immediately. This is an expensive process to be sure. But we intend to share AIG’s bad actions widely, while also pushing for a resolution that reflects the product they sold us for you. They were only too happy to take our money. But this appears to be a bad faith attempt to avoid paying their policies.
4. We will keep you posted via email outreach and on our social channels every time there is some news.

We are grateful for your patience and we know that yours has likely worn thin. We can only promise that we are doing, and will continue to do, everything possible to make sure you are ultimately properly reimbursed by AIG.

We are aware that many of you are in various stages of your claims with AIG and these claims are taking longer than anticipated. They have told us that this is due to a very large backlog of claims for the travel industry as a whole, much of it due to the cancellation of flights over the holiday. They have assured us that they are working as quickly as possible.

We are also aware that there have been a few instances of AIG rejecting claims for various reasons. We are working with AIG to resolve this as well. If this does happen to you, please inform of at [email protected].

“When thinking of the music scene in the Dominican Republic, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is any rhythm suitable for dancing, some merengue, dembow, salsa, everything, except an excellent punk band with hints of hardcore like Los Pérex.

This band is a technical Punk Rock act formed 1997 in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic that pushes the limits of the genre integrating different musical influences such as Metal and the melodic Hardcore to create their own sound.

Recording and releasing their first album ¨Historia¨ produced by Aldo German in the summer of 2005, the band made their first international tour in Puerto Rico.

In 2008 the band celebrated its 10th anniversary with more than a dozen shows accross the northern México cities and western U.S.

In 2009 back in DR they recorded their second full-length album entitled “Internacionalicemos la esperanza” produced by Ariel Sanchez, this release later received overwhelming support from media.

From 2012 to 2014 the band toured in Costa Rica and Panama supporting legendary punk bands such as Antiflag and Pennywise.

In 2016, founder guitarist Alexis Perex left the band to pursue a Ph.D in Biology at the University of Arkansas, US. Since then, band was in pause mode, until now they joined Destination Chaos to rock your hearts.”
