Upcycling Kites to make baby diapers. I live in the Dominican Republic. There is a huge garbage problem here and there is no recycling.

Also, the poverty is so high that parents can not afford baby diapers. I have started making washable baby diapers out of recycled kite boarding kites (for the p*e resistant layer, old towels (for soaker pads), and flannel for the inside layer. Elastic is added to the back and legs; I use Velcro for the closure so they can be used as the baby grows.
