At Phoenix Design Aid, we are proud to support organizations working on climate, environment and resilience around the world, helping turn important work into stories that inform, engage and inspire action. Most recently, and for the second year in a row, we finalized the 2025 Annual Report for IUCN, supporting the communication of global efforts to protect nature and advance sustainable development. Thank you to everyone who joined 𝐷𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑆𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝐹𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠: 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑡ℎ, 𝐼𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 & 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝐷𝐺𝑠, an event hosted on the sidelines of the ECOSOC Financing for Development Forum and the SDG Investment Fair 2026. The atmosphere was amazing and inspiring, fostering fruitful discussion on an important topic: Global collaboration and human-centered design and communication are vital to transform agendas into accessible communication, with youth playing a key role in shaping sustainable futures.

The event takes place in New York as part of the Financing for Development Week and SDG Investment Fair 2026, hosted by ECOSOC, and will explore how integrating communication efforts and human-centered design to advance sustainable development can help push the objective forward by translating complex agendas into accessible communication and by investing in youth as agents of long-term transformation.

Phoenix Design Aid has successfully completed its annual audit of our management system!

We are proud to announce that the audit of our three ISO certifications and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) certification was successful, with the auditors confirming that we continue to comply with all certifications.

A remarkable result with no non-conformities – thank you to our dedicated team for their hard work!

Our ISO system includes Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management (ISO 45001), while our SDG certification covers 10 targets within 4, 12, 13 and 17 (Quality Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action and Partnerships for the Goals).

Your Communications Officer is not a magician. Yet, in many civil society organizations, they are expected to be a strategist, writer, designer, fundraiser, social media manager, media/PR expert and digital marketer – all at once.

The reality? That’s not one job. That’s an entire team’s workload.

Expecting one person to handle it all is not sustainable. Burnout is real, and when communications suffer, so does the mission.

: – At the heart of our commitment to education is our support for the PDAid Foundation, which empowers youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in Kenya, Tanzania and soon New York. Through mentoring, the foundation helps young people find the right direction for their future, showing the power of education and knowledge sharing.

During the past year, two scholarship beneficiaries graduated, five mentees completed the mentoring programme, and two ongoing scholarship beneficiaries continue their studies with great results.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, Phoenix Design Aid worked closely with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to provide strategic social media advisory and content support for the campaign – ensuring messages remained clear, assets refreshed, and content aligned with key milestones around COP.

This collaboration combined weekly exchanges and calendar reviews, continuous optimisation, targeted post drafting and visual asset development, guidance on new content formats, trainings and support for paid social media. Below is a sample carousel we developed for .

Working in a complex and fast-moving communication environment, it has been a real pleasure to collaborate with IRENA’s team. Their openness, professionalism, and shared commitment made this assignment both effective and genuinely rewarding.
