Das Stuttgarter Kleinsatellitenprogramm wurde 2002 am Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme initiiert.
Um die Entwicklung von Satelliten trotz hoher Kosten für Transporte in den Erdorbit zu gewährleisten, wählte man den Weg der Miniaturisierung und der Nutzung neuer Raumfahrttechnologien. Das erste Projekt des Stuttgarter Kleinsatellitenprogramms ist der Flying Laptop. Dieser soll im niederen Erdorbit zur Bewertung neuer Technologien und nicht-raumfahrtqualifizierten Bauteilen dienen. Am 10.02.2017 fand die Abschlusspräsentation des Kleinsatellitenprojekts 2016/2017 am IRS statt. Alle fünf Gruppen leisteten super Arbeit!
On February 10th, 2017, the final presentation of the small satellite project 2016/2017 took place at IRS. All five groups did a great job!

If you feed them, they will come. Yesterday's Flying Laptop organizing meeting at Universität Stuttgart went splendidly!
Teams broke off to meet each other and discuss the future of Flying Laptop! The Spacecraft Controllers, the Antenna Controller, the Mission Planner, the Ground Controller, and the Command Controller all met with their backups, trainees, and junior planners/controllers.
