Obviously the term "DMC" was not that well-known, so he needed to explain that a Destination Management Company is basically the superhero of travel and events. And that’s when he finally had their full attention....

Empowering young tourism talent together with Africa Amini Alama

At CTI, we believe that tourism can and should create opportunities far beyond the trips we design. That is why we are proud to support internship opportunities for students at Africa Amini Alama in Tanzania.

These young people often come from backgrounds of scarcity and have had little or no exposure to the tourism industry they are training for. Hands-on experience is therefore not just “nice to have” – it is essential. As part of their curriculum, the students complete several weeks of internships each year, gaining real-life insights into the daily reality of our industry.

During school holidays, tourism partners host them in camps and lodges and rotate them through different departments – from front office and housekeeping to kitchen and service. This immersive approach complements their classroom learning and helps them build practical skills, confidence and a clear vision for their future.

However, getting the students out to the camps and lodges is logistically demanding and costly. Distances are long, and transport is not always easily available. Yet it is precisely this on-site experience that can make the difference between theory and a real career opportunity.

That is why CTI has decided to cover the transport costs for 25 students for one year – so that financial and logistical barriers do not stand in the way of this crucial learning experience.

As a Destination Management Company working daily with hotels, venues and tourism providers, we know how valuable well-trained, motivated young talent is. Supporting initiatives like Africa Amini Alama is our way of giving something back to the industry – and helping to ensure that tourism creates lasting, local impact.
