Part rowing machine, part furniture.

With MIRA, we explored what happens when training equipment takes on a second role in the home. At rest, its sculptural form becomes an elegant bench. For training, it unfolds into a rowing machine accompanied by light projections inspired by the movement of water.

More than ten year ago we took on the challenge to transform training into an integral part of your daily routine and home.

🏆 Double the charging. Less space. Award-winning design.

The Qwello CP21 and CP22 have received a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026.

Together with Qwello, we closely examined the full urban charging journey - from finding an available station to connecting, charging and paying.

These insights shaped a compact triangular design that enables two cars to charge at once, with clearly defined interaction zones and intuitive visual feedback.

The result: a robust, space-efficient charging solution that is easy to use, easy to service and unmistakably Qwello.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

🏆 Another Red Dot Award 2026 - this time with our long-standing client Eppendorf.

The Eppendorf Research® 3 neo was designed to make everyday pipetting more precise, intuitive and comfortable.

Together, we focused on the details that shape the daily lab experience: fast one-handed volume adjustment, secure volume locking, reduced operating forces and clear visual orientation through large controls and colour-coded elements.

The result is an ergonomically optimised pipette series that combines precision with effortless handling.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

From dispensing to healthcare interface: why the pharmacy is being redefined

Pharmacies are reaching a critical point. But the pressure is not only coming from inside the sector. It is coming from the healthcare system itself.

Across DACH markets, primary care is overloaded. Doctor shortages in rural areas, an ageing population, rising documentation burden. Legislators are responding by expanding what pharmacies are allowed to do: vaccination, screening, minor-ailment consultation, medication management for chronic patients. Germany's Vor-Ort-Apotheke is being formally repositioned as a Gesundheitshub, because it is the most-visited, lowest-threshold healthcare touchpoint the country still has.

This is not a trend pharmacies chose. It is a role the system is asking them to fill.

In our new point-of-view article, we look at what that shift means for the companies actually building the systems pharmacies rely on: storage automation, dispensing robotics, POS and inventory software, e-prescription, patient apps, tele-health.

Three thoughts we take a position on:
→ The near-term battle is not feature count. It is cognitive load per shift.
→ Interoperability is the precondition. AI is the amplifier. Documentation relief is the first concrete win.
→ The physical pharmacy is dissolving into a network of touchpoints: counter, app, courier, pickup locker, tele-consultation. Designing that as one coherent service is the real product problem.

Built on insights from BD Rowa V-MAX, our recent workshops in pharma technology, and the "Apotheken als Gesundheitshub" session at DMEA 2026 in Berlin.

Bringing a medical product to market is a long road - and for health and medtech startups, every month and every decision counts.

This is where we have built a dedicated practice. Not as an outside vendor, but as an active and advising part of the development process - making sure the right things happen at the right time, so founders have a smooth path from idea to validated, fundable product.

We do it from Munich on purpose. Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and TU München, UnternehmerTUM GmbH, Bits & Pretzels - the ecosystem health and medtech founders need is right here, and our network sits inside it.

In the same studio, we work with Eppendorf, Roche, Sanofi, BD Rowa, Radiometer, STORZ MEDICAL AG and Novartis, and alongside ambitious newcomers like Aspivix, Stellaromics Inc. and Osler Diagnostics. Hardware, software, or both - user research, innovation strategy, industrial design, UX/UI, and complex prototyping in one cross-disciplinary team.

If you are building in health or medtech and want a partner who has done this before, the full article is on our news section.

FLUID Design ranked No. 3 in Germany in the Medical category of the iF International Forum Design Ranking
The iF Design Ranking reflects accumulated award performance over time. In healthcare, that means continuity - devices that pass usability validation, interfaces that hold up in real clinical workflows, design measured by clarity, safety, and reliability in daily practice.

Our position reflects sustained work across medical devices, laboratory systems, and connected health products. From Eppendorf’s epMotion lab automation platform, to Storz Medical’s MASTERPULS Icon shockwave system, to Aspivix’s Carevix - each project built around what professionals and patients actually need at the point of use.

Modern travel is expected to be seamless and effortless. Yet in reality, navigating airports and cities often means juggling multiple belongings - from jackets to personal bags - while on the move.

Managing these extra items alongside a trolley suitcase remains a persistent challenge. Existing solutions are often improvised, unstable, and ultimately inconvenient.

Together with FLYNKA, we set out to address this hidden friction.

→ A simple, reliable solution designed for real movement
→ Intuitive to use: attach, secure, move on
→ Refined CMF and precision-crafted details
→ Developed through iterative prototyping and real-world testing
→ Built to integrate naturally into the travel experience

The result: a minimal accessory that brings clarity, order, and ease to everyday travel. https://www.wearefluid.com/projects/urban-travel-carabiner

Because seamless journeys are shaped by the details.

A sauna experience should begin with calm - not complexity. Yet many control systems still feel technical and unintuitive.

With U-Command for EOS Saunatechnik, we set out to change that.

→ A clean, touch-first UI that puts core settings front and center→ Personalized profiles for seamless repeat use
→ Consistent interactions that build confidence instantly
→ Subtle micro-interactions that add emotion to every touch
→ Flexible across cabin types, orientations, and configurations

The result: a connected, human-centered control experience that transforms complex technology into effortless wellness.

No stage. No presentations. No agenda.
Just designers, creatives, innovators, old friends, new faces, good conversations, music, and drinks.

Last Wednesday, our studio turned into a meeting place for Munich’s creative community during the FLUID Designer’s Night at mcbw - munich creative business week 2026.

For us, MCBW has always been about the energy of Munich’s creative community coming together, and after being part of the festival since its very first edition, it felt especially good to create space for exactly that: meeting, exchanging ideas, reconnecting, and simply enjoying being together.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our studio at Fraunhoferstraße and made the evening what it was. We loved seeing such a diverse mix of people from industrial design, UX/UI, branding, strategy, technology, and beyond.

Until next time ✨
