Parents often ask me:

“Why did my child get redness, itching, or irritation after using a kids’ makeup set?”

My first question is always:

Can you show me the full ingredient list?

Because if a product touches a child’s skin, especially the lips, eyes, and cheeks, “cute packaging” is not enough.

“Washable” is not enough.

“Safe for kids” written on the box is not enough.

A 2023 study on children’s makeup and body products found that 70% of children aged 12 or younger had already used these products, including glitter, face paint, lip gloss, and nail polish. Researchers also raised concerns about possible exposure to chemicals such as lead, asbestos, PFAS, phthalates, and formaldehyde in some children’s makeup and body products.

But this is not only about skin irritation.

It is also about the emotional message.

When children use makeup too early, too often, or because they believe they need to look “prettier,” we may quietly teach them that their natural face is not enough.

And childhood should not begin with beauty correction.

So please:

Let makeup be rare.
Let it be playful.
Let it be supervised.

No full ingredients. No proper label. No trust.

Your skin is not meant to survive 12 products every night.

One of the biggest skincare trends right now is not another “miracle ingredient.”

It’s repairing the skin barrier.

After years of aggressive skincare, many people are now dealing with:

sensitivity
inflammation
redness
breakouts
stressed skin

And often, the solution is not doing more.

It’s simplifying.

The future of skincare is moving toward:
✔ minimalist routines
✔ barrier repair
✔ hydration
✔ skin longevity
✔ mindful beauty

Because healthy skin is connected to:
sleep, stress levels, nutrition, and nervous system health.

Your skin is not separate from your body.

It reflects how you live.

Your skincare routine may be too complicated.

One of the biggest mistakes I see as a wellness and skincare professional is people using too many products without understanding what their skin actually needs.

And the result?

Damaged skin barrier.
Sensitivity.
Breakouts.
Redness.
Skin that feels tired instead of healthy.

One of the most searched skincare topics right now is: “How do I repair my skin barrier?”

Because many people are over-exfoliating and overloading their skin with active ingredients.
Healthy skin is not about using more products.
It’s about supporting your skin with:
✔ a gentle cleanser
✔ hydration
✔ moisturizer
✔ SPF
✔ consistency

Your skin also reflects:
• stress
• sleep
• nutrition
• nervous system health

Sometimes your skin doesn’t need another serum.
Sometimes it needs less stress and a simpler routine.
The future of skincare is skin longevity, not overconsumption.

Follow for science-based skincare and wellness education.

As a beauty professional, this is what I see more and more:

Parents want to do something good for their children…
But they are being asked to make adult skincare decisions for teen skin.

And the noise is getting louder.

Teen beauty spending reached $374 in spring 2025, while more than a third of teens reported using social media almost constantly.

That is why so many families feel confused, pressured, and afraid of choosing the “wrong” product.

But for teens with normal skin, the answer is usually much simpler:
gentle cleanser, lightweight moisturizer, and daily SPF. Professionals advise avoiding adult-focused actives like retinol, vitamin C, and exfoliating acids for many tweens and teens because they can irritate developing skin.

Not every teen needs Korean skincare.
Not every trend is useful.
And not every expensive product is necessary.

Sometimes the most helpful advice is also the simplest one:
DM basics can be enough.

Would this kind of educational series for parents and teens be helpful?

04/05/2026

Walk into DM for one simple product… and suddenly it feels like there are 200 options.

Cleansers. Toners. Serums. Acids. Masks. “Teen skincare.” Korean skincare. Sensitive skincare.

And instead of clarity, many parents and teens feel overwhelmed.

That feeling is not random.

In U.S. teen consumer data, the core beauty wallet reached $374 in spring 2025 and was still $336 in fall 2025. A 2025 study of viral teen skincare routines found they featured an average of 6 products and cost about $168 per routine.

At the same time, social media keeps feeding the idea that more products = better skin.

But for teens with normal skin, the science-based answer is usually much simpler:Oil cleanser,
gentle cleanser and lightweight moisturizer SPF.

Not more hype.
Not more pressure.
Not more money.

Just what the skin actually needs.

Sometimes the most helpful advice for parents is this:
you do not need to buy everything.
You only need to understand what is necessary.

Because healthy skin should not begin with confusion.

For a long time, people assumed I work in beauty because I care about appearance.

But the truth is much deeper than that.

What I have seen over the years, behind closed treatment room doors, has changed me.

I have seen women who were not obsessed with beauty, but overwhelmed by pressure.

Women carrying stress in their jaw, exhaustion in their eyes, inflammation in their skin, and self-criticism in every word they said about themselves.

And this is what beauty culture often ignores.

It teaches women to search for flaws before they search for causes.

It teaches them to fix, hide, inject, tighten, correct.
But rarely does it ask:

Are you sleeping enough?
Are you constantly stressed?
Do you feel safe in your body?
How much pressure are you carrying every day?

This is why I do this work.

Not to push women closer to perfection.

But to help them reconnect with themselves.

To understand that skin is not separate from health, emotions, hormones, inflammation, or the nervous system.

And to remind them that their face is not the problem.

Sometimes, it is simply telling the truth about what they have been carrying for too long.

Beauty, for me, should never be about shame.
It should be about awareness, care, health, and coming back to yourself.

Have you ever felt that your skin or face was reflecting what you were going through inside?

❤️

When I was a kid, I thought olive oil could fix EVERYTHING...

Dry lips? Olive oil.
Bad day at school? “Come, eat some bread with olive oil.”

Honestly, if my grandmother could use it to fix the TV, she would.

As a child, I thought this was something Greek families did.
So years later, when I saw olive oil sold as a supplement, I laughed.

A supplement?

We’ve been drinking it straight from the salad bowl since we were little!
No fancy packaging… just a big bottle on the table.

And here’s the funny truth:
Our grandparents were eating anti-inflammatory food before science even had a name for it.

They didn’t read studies.
They just trusted the land… and the olive trees.

Some habits are not trends.
They’re part of who we are.

Why Olive Oil Is a Scientific Powerhouse
Extra virgin olive oil is rich in polyphenols , strong antioxidants with real benefits for the whole body:

1. Natural anti-inflammatory action
2. Glowing, resilient skin
3. Better gut health → better mood → better skin
Greek food isn’t just delicious, it’s an evidence-based blueprint for longevity.

This balance of culture + science + mindful living is at the center of the work I share in my upcoming wellness seminar and teen skin–health ebook.

When life gets stressful, add a little olive oil.

Your skin, gut, and nervous system will thank you.
