Starting the year off in Fiji, 2025 took me to Australia, Turkey, China, the USA, and all over Europe 🎻It filled me with joy and gratitude for my life surrounded by my loved ones and a fulfilling career, but it also broke my heart seeing the injustice in the world. My biggest achievements include finding my voice for my beliefs, nurturing my two Viola Studios with talented students at Mozarteum and Trossingen, and successfully hosting the second edition of , showcasing music by contemporary female composers from the MENA region. Let’s make music matter and contribute to a more peaceful world in 2026 🕊️happy new year!

I’m so honored to have received the 2024 Prize of the Theodor Körner Fonds zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Kunst in Austria 🇦🇹 for my dissertation project „Re-Orientalism in Music“!!!! 🙏🏼Now I’m more than motivated to really start finding the time next to my two professorships and an average of 30 concerts/year (and masterclasses and jury duty in competitions) to finish my dissertation!! I was hoping to find the time to write in trains and planes but I’ve realized that to be creative I need a lot of peace and quiet around me…but 2025 is all about only saying yes to projects when I really want to do them and to take time for myself and allow myself to rest. Any tips for obtaining such a lifestyle are more than welcome!! :))
