After a couple of weeks doing some research for my customers in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, I am back to office. My desk still offers a pretty unique view I must say.

COCOA Island by COMO in the Maldives. Only 40 minutes transfer time from the airport by speedboat. A perfect place for a short Get away.

The Delfin I, the most luxurious cruiseship/houseboat on the peruvian Amazon. It offers space for max. 8 Passengers in 4 extremely spacious cabins with huge private terracces. The two groundfloor rooms even provide private plungepools at their verandas. Additionally to the delicious cuisine, the fresh Piranha Sashimi is a must.

These guys are just discussing whether they are happy with what they got near the waterhole or whether they prefer my salad. Fortunately for them green is green and they have no clue about the magic ingredients Nico tends to add to his amazing food at JAMALA.

But the very special feature at Jamala is the huge open air pool directly in front of the restaurant. When I was arriving, I was surprised why nobody of the guests used it. Ok, the water was a bit murky, but after a huge herd of Elis joint me during lunch, it was clear, why the owner has built a fence between them and our Michelin star like meals. And when I had dinner and suddenly 4 female, 1 male and 5 lion cubs played around, not even 15 m away from my well chilled Chardonnay, I was absolutely amazed by this place. Keeping in mind that during the coming winter months the visitors at this waterhole will at least quadruple, I am happy that I won't be there .... mainly, because I wouldn't leave this place and would be spoilt by the lovely staff with a nonstop "Wine & Dine" Experience.

My last stop during my recent trip through the Southern Africa was the JAMALA MADIKWE ROYAL SAFARI LODGE. With its 5 luxury chalets it's very intimate and the owner Rodney and his very creative chef Nico take special care of every single guest.

Besides amazing accommodation, MOLORI has the best guides in the park, who can track animals, serve the best wines, speak with birds and chase away clouds. John-Dee received an award for this recently.

The next destination was the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve with its size of 75.000 ha and just 35 minutes from Johannesburg by plane or 3,5 hours by car.
I spent some days at the fabulous MOLORI SAFARI LODGE.

In 1994, the not-for-profit Malilangwe Trust was established as a result of the largest ever single donor investment in Zimbabwe, in order to purchase, protect, and manage the extraordinary wilderness area next to the Gonarezhou National Park in southeastern Zimbabwe. Singita Pamushana Lodge is the ecotourism arm of this 130,000 acre reserve, and its role is to help foster the sustainability of the wildlife and broader ecology, while enabling guests to share the magic of the lodge and the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve.
