Inspired by the enchanting Christmas markets and festive nutcrackers, here are a couple of holiday-themed bookmarks ♥️ to celebrate this magical time of the year 🎄🎄

There's something about winter darkness that calls for smooth music, candles, and art. This 2018 mixed media piece feels fitting, is the woman singing along to the background song? 🥹 Speculation is a creative exercise too 😊

A thoughtful commissioned piece that will soon be going to its home in Munich.
“Annadaata Sukhi Bhava” is a Sanskrit blessing meaning “May the giver of food be happy and blessed.” It expresses deep gratitude for those who nourish and sustain life through their labor and generosity. The phrase reminds us that offering food is both a sacred act and a source of shared wellbeing. I envisioned the painting as rice in the divine Akshata Patra with elements from daily food rituals in India.

Celebrating Mulki Prathishtha Punnav 2025 with a throwback to my 2019 artwork, Yoga Narasimha. 🙏🏽 The temple in Mulki, Karnataka is truly breathtaking with its rich history. Established in 1260 CE, the temple is sacred to the Goud Saraswati Brahmins (GSBs) and has the distinction of having a rare iconographic Narasimha multi which has 8 arms, three eyes and standing on one leg. This temple has been my father's ishta dev which makes it even more special to me. 😊❤️🙏🏽

A week and half ago, I stepped outside my world of academia and into the vibrant zone of the Bharath Kala Vaibhava Event organized by the talented artists of the YakshaDhruva Patla Foundation Europe e.V. and I'm still filled with gratitude.🥰

A heartfelt thank you to those who made this event what it was — the organizers, the volunteers, and especially those who took a moment to stop by, say hello, and connect with my work. 😍

Handmade bookmarks from the Vāhana Series.

With Spring just within our reach in my part of the world, these handpainted flower-themed gift tags set the tone.🌺💐 The tags are a mix of Jacobean and Persian floral embroidery elements in watercolor and gouache paints on thick paper.
While these were made as Christmas gifts for my colleagues and so are unavailable, they can be remade on request and can be made as a set (each set contains 5 gift tags).

Saying hello with an old series. While I have been MIA for some time here, I thought I would pop in to say hi 👋.
The Vāhana (divine vehicles of the gods) Series of handmade bookmarks were first conceptualized as return gifts for a little boy's birthday party who also loves to read❤️. Each bookmark is unique and has elements of the divine Vāhanas' strength. They make for great gifts and can be framed as a series of small paintings as well. They are also customizable in that the divine vehicles can be made in different art forms or for other vāhanas as well
