"Are your rose fields open to the public?" It's a question we're hearing more and more. While our fields aren't open to visitors, Southern Ontario is full of stunning rose gardens worth the trip. We've rounded up our favourites, including the Royal Botanical Gardens pictured here!

Surprise! The roses are in, along with some shrubs and grasses!
We currently have 11 different rose varieties planted in the garden. Do you have any guesses as to which ones made the cut?
The roses got a light prune last week, so we’re still waiting a little longer for that first big flush of blooms. In the meantime, we’re counting down to the flagstone path installation next week, which should really bring the whole space together.
A few salvias, catmint, and phlox are still on the wish list... although we may already be running out of room! And this fall, I’m hoping to tuck in some allium bulbs for an extra splash of spring color.

Not every garden enjoys full sun, but that's no reason to miss out on the beauty of climbing roses. Shade-tolerant varieties can transform north-facing walls, pergolas, and sheltered fences into stunning displays. Some of our favourites include the soft pink James Galway®, the sweetly fragrant The Generous Gardener®, the rich apricot Crown Princess Margareta®, and the cheerful yellow Golden Showers, all reliable performers in lower light conditions.
We would love to hear some of your favourite shade tolerant climbers!

Not jealous at all… we promise. 😉
Is it time to tie up your climbing roses? Give this tying method a try! It helps prevent snapping and scarring by allowing the canes some movement, while also giving them room to thicken and grow.
