Defective

This is our 2024. It feels like a success. Thanks so much to everyone who supports us continually.
This year we weren't really active or viewable for some reasons. But besides that this shows us, that you didn't forgot us and our music. That feels good!

Perhaps we should think about searching for a new drummer and start a new writing process if we are complete again?

Unfortunately "Harvester" Fischer decided to part ways with "Defective" to focus on new projects. He was a big part of the creation process of our EP "IRREVERSIBLE: Only Depravity Remains" with great Ideas beside writing the drums. His style and creativity completed the vision we had for the songs and we are happy to made this important step for "Defective" together with him. We wish him best luck for his new project and we are sure it will become massive!

"Ja! Ich habe ein Problem! Mit dieser Mini-CD! Mit diesem oft kriechendem, meist grandios stampfendem Stück Death Metal mit eingesprengselten Tech-Tödlichkeiten.
Die Songtitel "Schizophrenic", "Infected" und "Slow Death" beschreiben die knackig produzierte Musik recht treffend - wer also, wie ich, sehr gerne die Stimme in Kellerhöhe in den Ohren hat, die morschen Knochen und Bänder bisweilen nicht in wahnwitziger Geschwindigkeit beanspruchen muss und auch noch lieber den Underground im Haus hat, der hat....DAS Problem! Nearly 13 years ago I played with Defective in Juz Klex Greifswald. Today I am back as a roadie for my former band Carnal Tomb. Nice to be back. Hopefully we are back on this stage with Defective on day. Let's see!

Defective – Irreversible - Only Depravity remains

Berlin 2009, eine Gruppe junger Menschen macht sich auf, ein bischen Deathmetal in die Bevölkerung zu bringen, die Rede ist von Defective.
2012 pausierte man dann geschlagene acht Jahre bis man dann 2020 zurück kehrte, und 2022 mit Irreversible dann die erste EP auf den Markt brachte.
Diese habe ich Dank Records hier vorliegen, und ich muss sagen ich bin gespannt.
Die Platte hat 3 Songs die nach Kapiteln aufgeteilt sind, man beginnt allerdings mit Kapitel 3 und Endet mit Kapitel 1.
Letztendlich ist das was Defective abliefern klassischer Deathmetal, fieses Growls, dröhnender Bass, fette Gitarren und treibende Drums.
Ich war etwas verwirrt als ich die Anordnung der Kapitel gesehen habe, aber das soll uns ja jetzt nicht weiter stören.
Sänger und Bassist Co**se Ripper liefert ordentlich ab, ich hatte Teils sogar ein paar grindige Eindrücke, aber das mag täuschen.
Er weiss zumindest mit seiner Stimme umzugehen.
Musikalisch gibt’s auch eine ordentliche Abreibung.
Seien es die Gitarren von Tobias und Gerald oder die Drums von Florian, man erkennt definitiv aus welchem Genre sie kommen, und das setzen sie auch gut um.
Es gibt ein paar schöne Slow Down Momente, es gibt aber auch Geknüppel vom feinsten.
Leider gibt es an ein Paar stellen Momente in denen ich mir nicht sicher bin was ich sagen soll, da wirkt es mir ein wenig unkoordiniert, was leider ein paar Abzüge in der B Note bringt.
Insgesamt ist Irreversible eine solide EP, coole Ansätze vor allem im dritten Song wo man einen Professor, so wie eine Person mit multiplen Persönlichkeiten vertont hat, inkl. Gastbeitrag von Evan Daniele (A**l Exorcism , Dead and Dripping uvm)
Insgesamt haben wir 11 Minuten bei 3 Songs und ich würde sagen 6 von 10.
