22MUSE Antwerp presents JAE KO – Striated
Full press release https://designspotter.com/newswire/22muse-antwerp-presents-jae-ko-striated/
Once in a lifetime: Jae Ko’s debut solo exhibition in Belgium at gallery 22MUSE Antwerp. Opening: Thursday 22.10.26 Exhibition: 23.10 - 28.11.2026
Jae Ko transforms ordinary paper into monumental sculptural landscapes through an intensive process of rolling, compressing, layering, and shaping. In Forces of Nature (pictured), countless tightly wound layers create flowing, organic forms that evoke forests, moss, waterways, and natural topographies. The monochromatic green palette enhances these associations while drawing attention to the work’s rich texture, movement, and craftsmanship. Rhythmic circular openings introduce depth and shadow, allowing the installation to shift with changing light. Blurring the boundaries between painting, relief, and sculpture, Ko pushes paper far beyond its conventional use, revealing its expressive and structural potential. The work reflects her ongoing exploration of material, process, and time, transforming an everyday medium into a meditative yet dynamic environment that invites slow contemplation and rewards close observation with an ever-changing interplay of texture, light, and abstraction.

INFINITE SCROLL BY TJEP. FRANK TJEPKEMA full press release https://designspotter.com/newswire/infinite-scroll-by-frank-tjepkema/ Frank Tjepkema pairs artistic invention with design that works in the real world, across a range of disciplines. He is owner and creative director of design studio Tjep., and creative director of contemporary jewellery brand OYUKIO.
2026 marks Tjep.’s 25th anniversary, celebrated with Infinite Scroll: a series of kinetic sculptures that take the most reflexive gesture of modern life — the scroll — out of our thumbs and into the room. As the image hints, a free-standing robots autonomously operating a screen, turning an ironic, unblinking eye on the spirit of our own scrolling age. Six perform together at the Codrico Factory (Rotterdam) and the Waag Futurelab (Amsterdam) this September; the work is released as a limited edition of 25 in brass, stainless or corten steel — one for each year of the studio’s practice.

Mark your calendars. Dutch Design Week 2026 is coming in raw, taking over Eindhoven from 17-25 October. 💥
This year, DDW returns to the core of design.
In a world increasingly driven by control, optimisation and perfection, the theme R.A.W. shifts the focus to what cannot be smoothed out: the unpolished, the unpredictable and the experimental. Because design doesn’t begin with a perfect plan, but with the urge to explore, question and reveal new possibilities.
For nine days, Eindhoven becomes a place where design is shown in all its stages—from first experiments and works in progress to finished projects across former factories, historic workshops and new creative hubs.
Witness the future in the making, and take part in it.
🗓️ 17-25 October 2026
