From Hamburg to Daressalam 🌍⁠
⁠
For Mika, the ASA experience is all about using sport as a tool for empowerment and social change. Together with Sand für alle e.V. in Hamburg and the Faru Sports Foundation in Tanzania, he is helping to develop training materials and long-term pathways that strengthen beach volleyball while creating more opportunities for young girls in sport. 🏐⁠

📆 A typical project day is spent at Hamburg's Südstrand beach volleyball facility: observing training sessions, talking to coaches, players and families, supporting local tournaments and researching digital learning resources that can be adapted for the project.⁠⁠
⁠
Soon the project team is off to Tanzania! 🇹🇿 Mika is especially looking forward to the upcoming workshop tour, where they will travel from through different regions, putting their ideas into practice together with local partners and hopefully creating a lasting impact. 🤝 ⁠

🔸 Für Hochschulen: Mit Hilfe eines ASA-Projekts können internationale Forschungskooperationen gestärkt und globales Lernen gefördert, sowie nachhaltige Entwicklung für Studierende konkret erlebbar gemacht werden.⁠

For Sarah, Gottwill, Lucia and Bernice, the ASA experience is all about making Black knowledge, history and cultural achievements more visible. Together with Meine Welt e.V. and , they create educational materials and support anti-racism and decolonisation initiatives.⁠

A typical project day starts with planning the week's tasks, followed by working on educational materials, preparing workshops or supporting events. Fridays are dedicated to team-building activities with the local ASA group.⁠

LGBTIQ+-Rechte sind untrennbar mit Menschenrechten und nachhaltiger Entwicklung verbunden. Denn wo Menschen aufgrund ihrer sexuellen Orientierung oder Geschlechtsidentität ausgegrenzt werden, werden auch Zugänge zu Bildung, Gesundheit, Arbeit oder politischer Teilhabe eingeschränkt.⁠
⁠
Entwicklungspolitik bedeutet deshalb auch, Machtverhältnisse und Diskriminierung sichtbar zu machen und sich für eine Welt einzusetzen, in der alle Menschen ihre Rechte verwirklichen können. Und genau das möchte auch das ASA-Programm: Es lädt dazu ein, globale Zusammenhänge zu verstehen, die eigene Perspektive zu hinterfragen und solidarisch zu handeln. Für mehr Gerechtigkeit weltweit! 🌍🌈⁠

Sommerabende am See und ganz viele inspirierende Menschen. 🌅⁠

Letzte Woche wurde am Werbellinsee wieder viel gelernt, gelacht und sich vernetzt: Rund 65 Teilnehmende der Programmkomponenten ASA-Hochschule und ASApreneurs hatten hier ihr Vorbereitungsseminar. ⁠🙌⁠
⁠
Zwischen intensiven Workshops und einem fachlichen Fokus auf Nachhaltigkeit in Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft blieb genug Zeit zum Kennenlernen und Natur genießen. Abendliche Gewitter sorgten für die notwendige Abkühlung und bei vielen Gesprächen am See entstanden neue Ideen, wertvolle Verbindungen und jede Menge Vorfreude auf die kommenden Monate. 🤩⁠
