„Was ist mit uns los?“ ist wahrscheinlich das Lied vom neuen Nummer-1-Album „Trink aus, wir müssen gehen!“, auf das Die Toten Hosen die meisten Reaktionen bekommen. Bei den Konzerten ist der Song jeden Abend ein berührender Höhepunkt im Set. Die Band berichtet, dass sie zu „Was ist mit uns los?“ besonders viele Mails und Nachrichten von Menschen erreichen, die ähnlich empfinden: ratlos, wohin sich gerade alles entwickelt, und verunsichert von der Härte und dem Hass, die unsere Gesellschaft immer mehr bestimmen. Viele erzählen auch, dass ihnen das Lied in all dieser Ratlosigkeit Kraft gibt und sie sich mit ihren Gedanken und Sorgen dadurch ein bisschen weniger allein fühlen.
