George Tounas (officially Georgios Tounas) is an award winning Graduate Communication Designer, Creative and (Senior) Art Director digital and classic and Frontend Developer with more than 15 years of professional experience.

He produces high quality digital, screen, web, print, ux/ui, app and corporate design, is an experienced frontend developer, and also has excellent analytical, conceptual and presentational skills. He is fluent in German, English and Greek, and also knows some French.

In the field of digital, screen, web, app design and develoment George creates aesthetic, functional and individually designed sites with a design thinking and mobile-first philosophy and with responsive web design, adapting flexibly to all screen sizes of all devices. He sets special value on user-friendly navigation, optimized graphics and correct HTML and CSS code. In addition he polishes websites with JavaScript functionalities and effects.

In the field of print design George produces high quality and creative catalogues, ads, brochures, flyers, newspapers, etc. also as campaigns. With masterly image editing, retouching and composing skills he creates visually appealing designs. He also does final drawings and checks the print data PDF.

In addition he writes (ad) texts, makes mood- and storyboards, and has skills and experiences in icon design, e-commerce, app design, SEO, filming, photography, painting and drawing.

Before his professional career George studied Communication Design for 5 years at the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim and the T.E.I. of Athens, and is a Graduate Designer (Master of Fine Arts), back then with an overall grade of 1.9 (good). During the artistic qualification period for a study place at the University he received the best grade for his portfolio with work samples out of approx. 300 applicants, then also was successful at the examination and finally got a place out of only 25 available. Upon high school graduation he received the prize for outstanding performances in fine arts (drawing, painting and fine art history).

Since 02/2019 he is employed as Frontend Developer and Screen Designer at TN34.DE Agency for Media Design and Communication in full-time unlimited with focus on frontend development, partially web development, (senior) art direction digital, conception, responsive web, screen, print design, layout, image editing, animation, SEO, interface function design and programming.

From 07/2018 till 01/2019 he was successfully employed as Art Director / Frontend Developer at Campaign X of Ruess Group in full-time unlimited with focus on digital and classic design (art direction, concepts, web, screen, print design, animation, etc.) and also on frontend and web development.

From 03/2018 till 06/2018 he was very successfully employed as Art Director / Frontend Developer at ITM ideas that matter Advertising Agency in full-time unlimited with focus on digital and classic design (art direction, concepts, web, screen, print design, etc.) and also on frontend and web development.

From 10/2016 till 02/2018 he was successfully employed as Art Director Digital / Frontend Developer at Leonhardt & Kern Advertising Agency of Schmittgall Group in full-time unlimited with main focus on digital (web, screen, app design, etc.), concepts, frontend and web development, but also in the fields print and film (print design, storyboards, video editing, animation, etc.). At the group he also worked for the partner agencies Tower 5 and t5 content, receiving unofficially the additional job title "Head of Design".

From 08/2011 till 09/2016 he was successfully employed over 5 years as Media Designer / Frontend Developer at software company COM-ACTIVE in full-time unlimited with main focus on web, screen, print, app design and also on frontend and web development.

From 05/2007 till 05/2009 he was successfully employed as DTP Media Designer at BENZ Sport in full-time over 2 years with main focus on print design and catalogue production.

From 03/2006 till 09/2006 he was successfully employed as Graphic Designer at GSK Advertising Agency in full-time with main focus on print, screen and web design.

Since 2004 and meantime of the permanent positions he worked successfully as a freelance Art Director, Communication Designer and Frontend Developer for clients like Alcatel-Lucent, UDG United Digital Group, Porsche, FK Automotive, etc.
