Tesla has delivered its 300,000th vehicle in the UK, a year after passing 250,000 registrations. In May, UK deliveries rose 44% year on year, marking a key milestone as the company pushes for further growth in an increasingly competitive market.

In May, 43,931 new electric vehicles were registered in the UK. Battery electric models saw a 34.2% rise in uptake, reaching a record 27.3% share of the market so far in 2026.

A total of 59,969 electric passenger cars were newly registered in Germany in May, 39.3 per cent more than in the same month last year. The BEV share of all new passenger car registrations for the month was 25.0 per cent.

Following the launch of the Model Y's six-seat 'L' version in India, Tesla has rejigged the mid-size EV's grade structure. The company has slashed the entry price by 900,000 rupees (approx. 8,100 euros) to position the model more competitively.

UK EV charging operator char.gy has installed its 5,000th public charge point. The 5,000th charge point was installed as part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s plan to deploy around 6,000 kerbside charge points across the city.

Chinese NEV maker Leapmotor delivered 71,387 new eergy vehicles in April, including domestic sales and exports. This marks an increase of around 74 per cent compared to the same month last year and 43 per cent over March 2026.

223,980 electric passenger cars were newly registered in Germany from January to April 2026. This corresponds to a 23.6% share of total registrations and an increase of 41.3% compared to the same period last year.

There are now more than 420,000 electric vehicles in Turkey. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the number of EVs on Turkish roads stood at 423,793 in April, up from 370,591 a year earlier.

According to the IEA, nearly 1.8 million new public charging points for electric vehicles were connected to the grid worldwide in 2025, representing a 33 per cent increase on 2024. By the end of 2025, the global stock of public charging points stood at more than 7 million.

More than 100,000 Tesla Model Y vehicles have now been newly registered in Norway since its launch in August 2021. Today, roughly one in every 29 passenger cars on Norwegian roads is a Tesla Model Y.
