Kid Crow

After a long hiatus a full colour sketch: In honor of “Nowe,” who sadly passed away far too early. Unfortunately, I didn’t know him well, but I had the opportunity to paint a wall with him and my friend . .berlin was an incredibly kind person who tragically leaves behind a wonderful son.

To support his loved ones, Master .turbo has launched a book project featuring sketches and photos of many of his companions. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. We will keep you updated as soon as there is news about the publication.

P.S. This year marks my 30th anniversary as a writer, and I have a few gems in the pipeline that will follow pretty soon.

When ID meets ID. Sneak Peak of a wall I painted with from ID Crew Melbourne while he was staying in my hometown for the Art Festival “Ortung” - - we had a great time and decided to do a nice 80s Concept with chrome effects and hard rock Vibes. Out now! Im Rahmen meines diesjährigen Graffiti Art Projekts für die Kunstbiennale Ortung14 in habe ich vier limitierte (24 Exemplare) und signierte Prints released. Meine Freunde von haben Gas gegeben und die Messlatte für Qualität und Detailverliebtheit mal wieder hoch gelegt. Indigo Giclée Print auf 350gr Karton mit goldener Heißfolienprägung.

Um was geht’s? Die Illustrationen der Prints ergeben zusammen den Slogan „Fight for Democrazy, Unity & Peace“, der zugleich auch das Motto eines Workshops ist. Gemeinsam erarbeitete das Team des Workshops Visionen einer „goldenen Zukunft“: Was können (junge) Menschen heute tun, um dystopische Entwicklungen zu verhindern und den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt zu stärken?

Frei nach dem Märchen „Bremer Stadtmusikanten“ der Gebrüder Grimm bilden die vier Tiere Hahn, Hund, Katze und Esel die figurative Basis der Prints. Das Märchen symbolisiert Zusammenhalt, Überwindung von Hindernissen und die Suche nach einem besseren Leben. Jedes Tier wird sowohl in der Anmutung eines Kupferstichs (steht für die Vergangenheit), als auch als Comicentsprechung (Zukunft) aufgegriffen. Am 10.08. wird das Wandprojekt in Schwabach fertiggestellt. Peace!

MERIAN by Crow.139 - The second part of the large mural work with my friend and colleague in Nuremberg for the . The wall shows an arabesque “MERIAN” style in honor of the great Maria Sibylla Merian, framed by illustrations of moths and flowers by the artist.

Arranging a lettering vertically was both a challenge and premiere for me. I learned a lot from this project, especially at a height of almost 12 meters and with few options for orientation.

Der zweite Teil der großen Wandarbeit mit meinem Freund und Kollegen Bener1 in Nürnberg für die WBG. Die Wand zeigt zu Ehren Maria Sibylla Merians einen arabesken „MERIAN“-Style, eingerahmt von originalgetreuen Motten- und Blumenillustrationen der Künstlerin.

Einen Style in der vertikalen anzuordnen war für ich eine Herausforderung und zugleich eine Premiere. Vor allem in fast 12 Metern Höhe und wenig Möglichkeiten der Orientierung habe ich viel gelernt bei diesem Projekt.

Danke nochmal an alle Supporter, Mateco Nürnberg und natürlich an die tollen Anwohnerinnen und Anwohner, die uns mit Getränken und Eis versorgt haben! =)

Can you create a monument to a 17th century naturalist with graffiti art? Absolutely! As part of a mural art project for , I painted a 180qm façade together with alias Patrik Wolters from Hanover. We wanted to create a reference to Nuremberg in the image and depict our artistic roots. After some research, we decided on Maria Sibylla Merian - a pioneer of science and art who lived and researched in Nuremberg for many years.

She was one of the first researchers to systematically observe insects and discover something about their actual living conditions. For many people at the time, the transformation of caterpillars into butterflies was still a miracle or a kind of rebirth and was not scientifically scrutinized. Our main motif is based on a plate from Merian’s work Metamorphosis Insectorum Surinamensium. The term “Metamorphosis”, central as a large graffiti handstyle, is framed by nature motifs in Merian’s typical style of watercolor copperplate engravings.

Part 2 - tomorrow!

Kann man einer Naturforscherin des 17. Jahrhunderts mit Graffiti Art ein Denkmal setzen? Auf jeden Fall. Im Rahmen eines Mural-Art-Projekts für die Nürnberger WBG gestaltete ich gemeinsam mit BeNeR1 alias Patrik Wolters aus Hannover eine 18 x 10 m große Fassade.
Wir wollten einen Bezug zu Nürnberg im Bild herstellen und unsere künstlerischen Wurzeln abbilden. Nach einiger Recherche entschieden wir uns für Maria Sibylla Merian – eine Pionierin der Wissenschaft und Kunst, die viele Jahre in Nürnberg lebte und forschte.
Sie gehörte zu den ersten Forscherinnen, die Insekten systematisch beobachteten und etwas über deren tatsächliche Lebensumstände herausfanden. Die Verwandlung von Raupen in Schmetterlinge war für viele Menschen damals noch ein Wunder oder eine Art Wiedergeburt und wurde nicht wissenschaftlich hinterfragt.Unser Hauptmotiv basiert auf einer Bildtafel aus Merians Werk Metamorphosis Insectorum Surinamensium. Der Begriff „Metamorphosis“, zentral als großer Graffiti-Handstyle, wird umrahmt von Naturmotiven in Merians typischem Stil von aquarellierten Kupferstichen.

Coole Idee und grandioses Line-Up. Tatsächlich hab ich mit dem A2 Format und der Papiersorte gekämpft und mich - nachdem Copics etc. versagt haben - auf Acrylfarben konzentriert. Für mich ein seltener Anlass. Aber hat Spaß gemacht.

The „Ultimate Comic Cover Show“ at Bohmte Gallery Münster. My contribution „Motley Crow“ - no AI, no digital gimmicks - just acrylics and a bit of spraypaint. Big honor to be part of this exhibition alongside great artists like my Crew Brothers & and many more! Again thanks for the invitation.

Urban Impressions 2025 - together with my Homie from Boogie Down Berlin City. I will never forget when I first saw his influential Part in the Power of Style DVD alongside Suke, Poet, Shek or Angry. What a boss, what an inspiration. Now he is a friend. Graffiti is magic.

Long time no sketch! URBAN by Crow for Urban Impressions Festival 2025.

Dear Friends,
after I was able to publish my book project just over a year ago, I received a lot of positive feedback and encouragement. Nevertheless, I fell into a black hole mentally and physically. 2024 was pretty terrible. In June, I even had to cope with the death of my beloved father. There have been few moments in the past that made me pause for thought and put a lot of things to the test. Creatively speaking, I was completely blocked, drained and disgusted by social media.

How can things continue for me? How do I want to progress as an aerosol artist and writer? For me, the answer was to cut my previous alter ego “Kid Crow” to mark a turning point. Kid Crow becomes Crow.139, where the 139 stands for my date of birth (not the street in NYC =)

Two concepts and story lines are added to the name. “MOTLEY CROW” as an outlet, which refers to quotes from my past in various subcultures (Hardrock à la Mötley Crüe and Heavy Metal were a strong influence as a child) and “MYSTIC PURPLE”, which will take place in the field of tension of psychedelic art, lettering, skateboard design and the comic era of the 80s and 90s.The journey begins today.CROW.139 (TDS|SBB|ID|WCDIB|GBF|LH)
