London Fashion Week 2025 - looking back
Last September, from 18–20 September 2025, I had the great pleasure of presenting my fashion illustrations as part of the group exhibition LOVE. DRAW. ILLUSTRATE. during at in Shoreditch. The exhibition was organized by in collaboration with Fashion Scout.
Exhibiting my work in London alongside international fashion illustrators was one of the very special moments of the past year for me — especially because this was also the time when I consciously began to focus more intensively on fashion illustration again, alongside my main professional work as a Fashion Consultant at ABOUT:FASHION.
What initially happened mainly on weekends gradually became a regular part of my creative practice. I can completely lose myself in my detailed pencil drawings. They take many hours, often several days, and this slow, concentrated process has become a wonderful balance to the often fast-paced fashion industry.
The London exhibition motivated me to continue pursuing this path and to set myself new creative goals.
Since then, my work has also been published in FIDA’s Fible 05, with a second publication in Fible 06 to follow this year.
And in July, my illustration RUBY was selected among the Top 100 at International Fashion Illustration Week 2026 as part of the People’s Choice Awards.
Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I look back at what has developed within just one year.
I am proud of it — and I continue to find it amazing what can happen when you focus on something you truly love.

IFIW 2026 – TOP 100
International Fashion Illustration Week 2026
This year, I participated in International Fashion Illustration Week 2026 for the first time, submitting a selection of my fashion illustrations and portrait drawings.
International Fashion Illustration Week is a global celebration of contemporary fashion illustration. It brings together artists from around the world and provides an international platform that showcases the diversity, creativity and artistic relevance of fashion illustration today.
Through its Top 100 selection, public voting and exhibition opportunities, IFIW highlights both established and emerging creative voices.
This year also marked the introduction of the IFIW People’s Choice Award, giving audiences around the world the opportunity to vote for the artwork that resonated most with them. I am proud to share that my fashion illustrations were selected among the Top 100 Fashion Illustrations of International Fashion Illustration Week 2026, presented by FIDA.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and voted for my work. Being recognised as part of this international selection is a meaningful achievement for me.
The IFIW 2026 Top 100 represents an extraordinary spectrum of creative approaches, ranging from traditional analogue fashion illustration, watercolour, coloured pencil, soft pastel and acrylic to digital drawing, textile art, collage and experimental media.
Seeing my work presented alongside that of so many talented international artists is both an honour and a strong encouragement to continue developing my own artistic language.
The 1st prize winner of the Top 100 Fashion Illustrations of the People’s Choice Award was Sarah Darby, whose illustration received the highest number of public votes.
Alongside the People’s Choice Award, one artist from the IFIW Top 100 was selected by FIDA to have their work showcased during London Fashion Week in September 2026 as part of its official exhibition programme. Anastasiia Polishchuk was selected for this special showcase with her illustration Best Dressed Gets to Heaven.
SCHAU26 — UdK Berlin’s Annual Fashion Show
Another highlight of the season is always the presentation by the Universität der Künste Berlin. This year’s show, SCHAU26, was presented under the title “Silver Lining: Fashion as Protest.”
Eleven graduates and five semester projects from the UdK Berlin’s Institute for Experimental Clothing and Textile Design presented their work during Berlin Fashion Week. Instead of taking place in a traditional show venue, the street itself became the runway — surrounded by residents, passers-by, industry guests and more than 1,000 spectators.
As a fashion designer, educator and career consultant, I continuously observe how the fashion industry is evolving — not only in Germany, but also internationally.
As ABOUT:FASHION is a Coaching Institute for Fashion Education & Career Strategy, one of our core areas is turning the talent and potential of fashion students and young professionals into successful careers in the industry. We therefore visit the annual presentations of fashion schools — from open days and graduate exhibitions to fashion shows — with great interest.
It is always inspiring to discover the remarkable talent of the next generation of fashion designers.
Carmen Teixeira’s striking photographs reflect what makes UdK Berlin such a remarkable place to study fashion: – experimentation, – artistic freedom, – critical thinking, – the courage to understand clothing as more than a commercial product. Fashion becomes a language — a way to communicate ideas, question existing structures and take a position.
Congratulations to all participating students and graduates on their bold, innovative and highly individual designs. Congratulations also to the lecturers and everyone involved in bringing young design talent into the public space and creating such an impressive show.
For aspiring fashion designers seeking a strongly conceptual, artistic and experimental education, the UdK Berlin offers a distinctive and inspiring environment in which to develop their creative voice.
