Meet my pair of Universal Audio LA-610 MkII —
Tube channel strips with roots tracing back to Bill Putnam’s legendary designs, blending the warmth of a vintage 610 preamp with the smooth control of the T4 optical compressor.

I run them in stereo or as two distinct mono channels, depending on the source.
Their tone? Lush, musical, and unapologetically analog.
They saturate with rich, harmonically complex warmth — adding girth and glow without mud. Compression is smooth and musical, effortlessly pulling vocals forward. The EQ is simple, but effective: broad, musical curves that shape without carving.

My favorite setup: parallel on the vocal group, acting as tube-driven glue.
They tighten the transients, inflate the body, and add a velvety density that makes vocals feel finished even before the mix bus.
