OXI Instruments

OXI Coral is a polyphonic and multitimbral Eurorack synthesizer module. It offers a wide range of synthesis engines, making it one of the most versatile all-in-one synth voices available in the Eurorack format. With up to eight voices, multi-part operation, built-in effects, MIDI and CV control, sample playback, and support for custom wavetables, it can serve as everything from a traditional polyphonic synthesizer to a compact groovebox within a modular system.

The OXI One allows users to fix both active and empty steps, preventing them from being modified when using the Random generator. This provides greater control over generated patterns by preserving key rhythmic elements while allowing the remaining steps to evolve. It is particularly useful for maintaining the foundation of a groove, emphasizing offbeat rhythms, and preserving the core rhythmic structure while exploring new variations.

Let me show you a fun way to combine the E16 and the OXI One.

The OXI One’s external modulation matrix lets you control a huge range of internal parameters, including every parameter of its powerful arpeggiator.

Here I’m using the E16’s new Looper feature to continuously modulate different arpeggiator parameters such as the euclidian generator, the arp rate etc, creating musical phrases a very easy way. It’s a simple setup, but it opens up a lot of creative possibilities.

What starts as a single sequence quickly turns into something alive and unpredictable.

By using modulation reset, your modulation lanes stay synchronized to your chosen quantization time.
Running multiple modulations with different, independent lengths creates evolving, looping patterns while maintaining a layer of predictability over the reset length.
