Swedish Modern table, model ‘Berga’, designed by David Rosén in 1942. Produced by Nordiska Kompaniet in Sweden, 1940s. Made from solid pine. In good original condition, with wear consistent with age and use. The table features a uniquely designed top that is removable, secured to the base by a specially crafted wooden peg on each side.

Swedish Modern cascade ceiling lamp, model ’40’, designed by Hans Bergström. Produced by Ateljé Lyktan in Åhus, Sweden, 1940s. Shades in perforated brass, canopy in brass, recently rewired. Height is adjustable. Manufacturer’s mark to the canopy. In good original condition, with wear consistent with age and use.

Gary’ (‘The Thumb’) easy chair, designed by Arne Norell. Produced by Gösta Westerberg in Sweden, 1952. Legs in beech, recently reupholstered in fabric with tufted buttons. Legs in good condition, with wear consistent with age and use.

Designed by Swedish designer Arne Norell in 1952, this remarkable chair was presented the same year at the Önskehemsutställningen in Stockholm. Two years later, Norell established his own practice in Sundbyberg. The sculptural, thumb-shaped backrest is an immediate focal point, lending the chair both its distinctive silhouette and its name.

‘Tank’ armchair, model ’37/400′, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936. Manufactured by Artek in Finland, 1940s. Made from laminated steam bent birch plywood, recently reupholstered in honey sheepskin. The armchair has been expertly restored.
