On 8 May, Europe commemorates the official end of the Second World War. The six-year conflict claimed an estimated 60 million lives, with civilians accounting for nearly two thirds of the victims.

In the Czech Republic, this day is observed as a Day of Victory (Den vítěztví) — a national holiday dedicated to remembering the end of the war and honouring all those who lost their lives.

🚀 Starting Grants – Institutional Research Support (Dagmar Procházková Fund)

The University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague is opening a new call to support outstanding researchers with international experience who plan to continue their careers at UCT Prague.

🔬 What’s offered:
• 2 projects funded (duration: 3 years)
• Up to 2,000,000 CZK per year per project
• Project start: no later than 1 February 2027

📅 Key dates:
• Submission deadline: 15 June 2026 (15:00 CET)
• Results announced: by 31 October 2026
