Our new design - RAJKA!

They are iconic primarily for their unmistakable appearance, which stands out among other cars. They were designed primarily for transporting powdered cement and limestone. They catch the eye at first glance with their unusual design – instead of one large container, four smaller ones (“onions”) were chosen, which can be loaded and unloaded individually. This is also where their nickname comes from.

🌟 A Legend: Meet the “Die Lady” – BR 243 🌟

In 1982, a striking white locomotive with red stripes rolled out of LEW Hennigsdorf and into the hearts of railfans across East Germany. Nicknamed the “Die Lady”, this prototype—originally designated 212 001—was the forerunner of the iconic BR 243 series (later DB Class 143).

⚡ With a power output of 3,720 kW, a top speed of 120 km/h, and pioneering features like digital speed displays and PZ80 train protection, she was a technological marvel of her time.

🚆 Her elegant design and performance led to the production of over 640 units, making her one of the most successful electric locomotives in German rail history.

Today, the “Die Lady” lives on—not just in museums or private collections, but in the memories of those who witnessed her grace the rails.

Rolling since the late 1960s, the mighty 218 became the iconic diesel-hydraulic symbol of German railways. With up to 2,764 horsepower and a top speed of 140 km/h, it conquered main and branch lines alike, hauling everything from local commuter sets to sleek express services.

Built across more than 400 units and still going strong in 2025—whether leading regional trains, heavy freight, or hauling stranded ICEs—the 218 is pure rail power and versatility. A living legend of German engineering!
