Neolithic Shelter

This reconstructed Neolithic hut offers a glimpse into life on the Wiltshire landscape more than 5,000 years ago. Built using traditional materials such as reeds, thatch, and woven wattle, shelters like this would have housed some of the earliest farming communities in Britain. Long before the construction of nearby Stonehenge, people here were cultivating crops, raising livestock, and establishing permanent settlements.

Gateway to Salisbury
