Some summers ago in Prague.

I learned something while I was there. A new word and story: defenestrations. Look it up!

Basically it’s throwing political enemies out of windows. The most famous was in 1618 when two empirical regents and a secretary was thrown out of the window. It was about 21m/69ft high window and amazingly, all lived. Whether they broke anything major is beyond me but they lived.

Random chit-chat… If I were to open a business, it’d be a small cafe. And it’ll only be open 10am - 3pm. I want to sleep in and have the evening off also 😂

I contemplated a b&b but, I got to be honest with myself: I am not a morning person. It’ll just be “bed” 😂

Laters, all!

Hi! It’s me 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hope everybody is doing well! If you’re wondering how or where I have been…

I am doing great, still in Germany, and have been busy with grad school, finishing next spring with my HCI program 🎉 Besides that, learning Chinese and French.

I haven’t been wandering as much as before because it’s just been very busy with real life. I still travel and take photos, but they just stay in my camera roll.

This one I found whilst scrolling. It’s an autumn 📸 but with Germany finally catching up to summer (it’s been raining and sometimes cold the last few weeks), I am again thinking of cooler days. 🍂 in general is my favourite time of year. Hope you enjoy the Amsterdam vibe.

Have a fab day and I’ll try to find a photo that has an interesting story. The only time I ever told stories about a place is here on IG and I do miss that.

Bye for now 😘

I don’t have any Harris/Walz photo and my t-shirt is still in the mail. So a sunny blue sky it is in Aachen, Germany.

I want to post here today to show my support to Kamala and Tim, and to everybody in the US right now—especially my fellow American sisters.

Why? I believe in freedom, choice for all, and the right for everyone—especially women—to make decisions about their own bodies. I stand for democracy, education, peace, and financial stability. I admire good character, strong work ethic, and solid values. I also do want a strong economy and a good border plan. To me, being part of a team means working together on issues, even when our opinions differ, and not quick to name call. There is a lot of things that I don’t respect in Trump but his disrespect for McCain and those who’s served in the military is appalling. I can’t vote for somebody I don’t respect and I cannot forget Jan 6.

💙✌🏼💙✌🏼💙

When we were in Strasbourg, France. And Pebbles and I were people watching.

Hope you all are doing well. It’s that time in the U.S. election season where I have a mix of anxiety and hope.

I hope goodness wins this next week and on my end, I have completed my assignment from Germany.

Take care and if you are in the U.S. and a citizen, go vote!! 💙💙💙

Munich’s New Town House from the early 1900s.

There is supposed to be an amazing library here but I didn’t get to visit. Hopefully next time!

Hope you all are doing well! It is FINALLY summer here in Germany. Last Saturday I was bundled up whilst sitting outside. Hope it stays!

How is the weather in your part of the world?

It’s raining again this week. Mostly warm but still a chilling morning and evening. Can’t wait for a steady stream of ☀️

Aachen was originally a Roman spa called Aquisgranum. Between 936 and the 16th century, 30+ German emperors and kings were crowned here. From 1560 on, the coronation site moved to Frankfurt.

This photo is a small corner of the Rathaus/town hall. Originally built in the first part of the 14th century and since then, different parts have been rebuilt due to fire and war.

Whilst I don’t think it’s too often mentioned in people’s visit Germany itinerary, Aachen in my humble opinion is a must visit.

Happy Friday! Any fun plans? Out with friends or family maybe? A run to the neighbourhood pub? A quiet evening with a book maybe?

A corner of Aachen, Germany. A small city with a cute cobblestone centre.

That restaurant and the many steps of Montmarte, Paris.

After taking this shot, I fell backwards and landed on my bottom. See the cylinder bolsters in front of cafe? That tripped me. I did save my camera 😂

This restaurant used to be Van Gogh’s regular where he would have meals, drinks, and meet ups with friends. Picasso, Sisley, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Monet have also frequented this establishment.

My IG experiment… trying the music option. Do you like music on photos?

Not sure the plan this weekend. I hope you have a great day and weekend!

It’s not me, it’s the house.

The crooked house of Ulm. Built in the 14th century, it’s been crooked for about a couple hundred years now.

This house is now a cosy inn and to accommodate the crookedness, the furniture inside has been aligned so that guests will not feel like they’re rolling into the water.

I am not sure what that means. So one day I will have to book myself a stay and see what on earth this is all about.

Hope your week is going well. To those in Germany, have a great bank holiday tomorrow. Don’t forget to do your shopping sometimes today.

To those living outside Germany, on Sundays and holidays the shops are closed. Many places to enjoy oneself and restaurants are open but grocery stores, clothing shops, banks, and businesses in general are closed. One also has to respect quiet hours.

Two interesting facts, Albert Einstein was born in this city. The family didn’t live long here after Einstein was born, they moved when he was 15-months-old.

The other is, Ulm Minster has the tallest church steeple the world. I don’t have a photo of this. Next visit!

As the sun begins to set over Ulm sometimes last year in April. Different time of evening in the old town, Fisherman’s Quarter. April, or any month between April and May, can be hit and miss here in Germany (although June can be a bit 🤨 at times also). One day it can be t-shirt and jeans and the next back to the whole winter gear.

Still, as the Germans like to say, “There is no bad weather, just wrong clothes.” 😂

Happy Friday and hope you all have a great weekend! I have all the intention of popping back in on Monday. I even setup a reminder alarm 😂

Trying to remember how to edit photos again in the phone.

Köln/Cologne, one beautiful evening. Those well known colourful houses on Fish Market Square.

Made pizza for dinner and experimenting with bulk proofing the sourdough bread overnight. We’ll see if it’s a success or a liquid mess at 06:00.

Barcelona in 2022. Our last family holiday before the oldest went to uni. Different alleys and squares around the Gothic Quarter.

Hi, all! The IG slacker is back and IG is so different now. I feel like a newbie again! I may need one of the teens to show me around 🙈😂

You’re probably curious what on earth I’ve been up to. Let’s see… Still in Germany and I got laid off last summer as a UX designer due to being remote. It seems like a lot of companies are more into hybrid nowadays. I’ve looked and applied but there are not many jobs where the requirements are English and remote. So, I decided to go back to school and was accepted to the MSc in Human-Computer Interaction programs (online) from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. My hope is that I can go back to being an adjunct at a university again but in the UX/HCI field than instructional technology.

Since I have gone back to work, I have been missing photography quite a bit. I browsed through some of my old pics and they brought back a lot of memories and they made me want to go back to taking photos and travelling again.

This week we will be doing a small trip to the river. Hopefully I 📷 something interesting and can share here. In the meantime, some old pics from the camera roll.

Take care!
