On 23 April, to celebrate World Book Day, we are reminded that reading should be accessible to everyone.
Promoting inclusion means ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore, imagine, and feel represented.
With Unlocking Inclusion, we work towards building a more equitable education where no one is left behind.

School is the first place where inclusion is built. 🏫
A gesture, a word, a little extra attention can make a difference.
Inclusion is built every day, starting from school.

Differences in social communication can lead to misunderstandings or exclusion, while sensory sensitivities (noise, unpredictability, social pressure) can make everyday interactions overwhelming. At the same time, peers often lack the awareness and skills to respond with empathy.
As a result, many autistic young people struggle with friendships and may experience isolation or bullying — reflecting not just individual differences, but environments that are not fully inclusive.
Research shows that peer acceptance must be learned and supported. When students understand neurodiversity and engage in inclusive experiences, attitudes begin to change.
This Autism Awareness Month, let’s move beyond awareness and build peer cultures where everyone truly belongs.

💙 This April, we take a moment to reflect on what inclusion truly means.

It’s in the small moments—when a child feels seen, when differences are embraced without hesitation, when kindness becomes a natural response.

Through the Unlocking Inclusion project, we are working towards environments where every child has the space to be themselves, connect with others, and feel that they belong.

Because awareness is just the beginning—real change happens through everyday actions.

On 18 March, Alexandra Faka from Vimodo and Gabriella Sophocleous from Aglantzia D Primary School presented the UnlockingInclusion project to 4th-grade students and their parents.

Once the escape game is completed, students will have the opportunity to try it out, helping to promote the inclusion of students with disabilities.

Our project 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 has officially started! 🔓✨

As a first step, we are collecting data on 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. To do this, students and teachers will complete questionnaires that explore their experiences, perspectives, and needs related to inclusion in schools.

The insights gathered will help us better understand the current situation and guide the next steps of the project. We are excited to see what the research will reveal and how it will shape our work toward more inclusive learning environments.

👀 Sneak peek of the successful start of our new Erasmus+ project “𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧”, officially launched at the Kick-off Meeting in Brno on 27 January.
