Closing this gap is not just a matter of economic fairness - it reflects our collective commitment to equality, opportunity, and social progress.

That’s why the Erasmus+ funded consortium behind the “EqPay4all” project is proud to present a campaign co-created with young women from across Europe, aimed at raising awareness and sparking conversation around these pressing issues.

At Future Needs, we’re proud to highlight the impact of our LEAD-Online project, which empowered young people, educators, and media professionals to think critically and become more media literate, especially when addressing hate speech online (HSO). 🚫💬

In this project (running from 2022 to 2024), our team led the communication and dissemination activities and contributed to the development of the Training Programme.

Through a myriad of workshops, seminars, online campaigns, and outreach events, Future Needs engaged over 4,500 individuals in Cyprus, contributing to the project’s overall reach of over 30,000 people!

LEAD-Online: Pioneering Solutions to Combat Online Hate Speech LEAD-Online has been on a mission to dismantle barriers and combat Online Hate Speech with new digital tools.

Future Needs will be hosting a practical workshop at the Women in Business and Beyond Conference in Cyprus to help more women access the financial resources they need to drive impact in research and innovation.

Despite progress, significant gender disparities remain.

• Femtech startups with female founders receive 23% less funding than those led by men.
• Women make up only 28% of the STEM workforce.
• In EU agriculture, the gender pay gap stands at 18%.

We will explore sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and transport - sharing real examples, discussing funding and research opportunities tailored to each field, and guiding participants on how to navigate the application process to secure EU support for their projects.

Women make up 48% of doctoral graduates in the EU, yet they account for only a third of researchers in Europe. 👩‍🔬 🔬 Despite progress, many remain underrepresented in senior academic and decision-making roles due to persistent gender barriers.

To promote gender equality, the EU has introduced key measures in research and innovation—one of which is the Gender Equality Plan (GEP), a mandatory requirement for organisations applying for Horizon Europe funding.

In recognition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, our team, Anna Palaiologk and Lee Ingleton, has created a clear, easy-to-follow guide to help organisations navigate gender equality requirements in Horizon Europe ( 👇link in the comments).

The future of urban air mobility takes flight next week in France! ✈️

We are excited to announce our participation in the upcoming “Towards Sustainable Aviation Summit 2025,” organised by - Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France in Toulouse.

Representing Future Needs at this event will be Anna Palaiologk, our Head of Research and Founder, and Georgia Nikolakopoulou, our Head of Dissemination.

Anna will present the study “Integrating Urban Air Mobility into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans: A Framework and Occupational Profiles for Smart Cities.” This research highlights two key areas: the introduction of Sustainable Urban Air Mobility Indicators (SUAMI) and the development of an occupational profile for UAM experts.

Our Innovation Project Manager and Researcher, Thanos Arvanitidis, will participate in the SESAR Joint Undertaking ENGAGE 2 Winter School in Belgrade this month. 🎓🚁 He will join professionals to deepen his understanding of key concepts and challenges while exploring advanced research methodologies.
