New Rental Rule in Cyprus — Important Update for Tenants & Landlords
Mark the date: 1 July 2026. From this day, a new regulation regarding rental payments will come into force in Cyprus.
What’s changing?
Rent payments over €500 must be made via bank transfer or other traceable electronic payment methods.
❌ Cash payments above this amount will no longer be allowed.
This rule applies to both tenants and landlords.
