Diplomáticos Colección Privada II Edición Regional 2020 is now on sale in the Spanish market. This is the second exclusive Regional Edition for Spain of this young Cuban brand created in the 1960s. In Spain no vitola of the Diplomáticos standard portfolio is available.
Its vitola de galera, Edmundo (ring gauge 52 x 135mm), is otherwise only used in the standard Montecristo portfolio. The first Regional Edition of the brand in Spain was launched in 2013 under the name Colección Privada I, as a Petit Robusto. Habanos s.a. presents the first Edición Limitada -limited edition- of 2013. Hoyo de Monterrey is one of the three brands selected on this occasion. The arrival of this Edición Limitada to all markets worldwide is expected in the coming days.

The Ediciones Limitadas -Limited Editions- of Habanos* (D.O.P) are highly appreciated and awaited every year by enthusiasts worldwide. They are characterized by vitolas -sizes- that do not appear in the usual range of the brand portfolio, and they are distinguished by a careful selection of their leaves – wrapper, filler and binder- which have been aged for a period of at least 2 years. The wrapper dressing these Habanos comes from the top leaves of the Tapado – shade grown- black Cuban to***co plant, and is relevant characteristic that identifies these special productions. This wrapper is usually darker than the wrappers of regular range sizes of the brand.

Why should Spanish cedar wood be used for humidors?
Moisture Buffer Spanish cedar wood can store large quantities of moisture and release it back into the environment. This not only compensates for moisture fluctuations when the humidor is opened, but also ensures a more uniform climate throughout the humidor. Mahogany and other tropical woods can also store moisture to varying degrees, but they lack the other advantages of Spanish cedar. If other materials which do not absorb moisture, like glass for example, are used in the interior of the humidor, the ci**rs will be exposed to greater fluctuations in the ambient humidity level.

Le Hoyo de Río Seco is the second vitolato be introduced to the new Le Hoyo Series range which was launched in 2015 with the Le Hoyo de San Juan, a cigar which also carries a heavy girth (5⅞” (150mm) x 54) to reflect the continuing trend towards stout ci**rs.

The new vitolasjoining the Le Hoyo range only use Seco and Ligero leaves in the blend that are grown in San Juan y Martinez, a small town in Vuelta Abajo zone which provides most of the premium to***co leaves destined to become Habanos. The famous Hoyo de Monterreyplantation is also located here which grows some of the finest leaves for other prestigious Habanos brands.
