Nice to share with you. Some real feedback of our OWAC hyper efficient cooling installation in the building of the Ministry of Finance at Curaçao. This installation is more than 10 year commercial operational!
A 2100 m2 building traditionally using about 45 Watt per square meter to cool. As you can see in the picture, OWAC needs on average less than 20 kw to cool the whole building. UPDATE! On the development of the OWAC ocean water cooling installation for the ‘Pen resort’ / ‘The Pyrmont’ resort in downtown Willemstad, Curaçao. The iron work for the technical building concrete is being set this week. In the meantime the manufacturing proces of the ocean water intake that will be set right under the surface (OWAC uses surface ocean water), has been completed! We can’t wait until the moment it will be installed on location! Great to note that the first elements of the OWAC ocean water cooling technology for our ‘Penresort’ project in Curaçao have been put in place! In this case it is the collection tank for the drainage system of the OWAC chiller plant.
By choosing the hyper efficient OWAC cooling technology, buildings like this can not only save upto 75% on their cooling energy bill but also can save on a much lighter electrical system needed for the whole operation. Yesterday we visited Cunucu Fresh in Aruba. What an impressive result they have created in growing lettuce given the climatological circumstances, costs and challenges they meet. Owner Jake Arends has been expanding what his father started years ago by hard work and a clear and intelligent vision. We now are in the proces of exploring possibilities of working together using the OWAC cooling technology and Cunucu Freshes’ experience and knowledge in order to expand, grow a bigger variety of crops and increase production by creating a contained climate. All to let everybody participate in the sustainable, innovative economic growth this cooperation can lead to. Healthy affordable locally produced food, honest work and education are important for the resilience of the Caribbean islands. And we are growing, growing, growing….! A new location to serve new OWAC ocean water technology projects. A place to prepare and assemble for our missions like for the new to build The Pyrmont Hotel in Willemstad Curaçao and other upcoming asignments, locally and inter locally. The OWAC technology is already in its 10th year of commercial operation and has been developed by Omega Engineering Curaçao. It’s a hyper efficient cooling technology, sustainably using the ocean to cool hotels, offices, shopping malls, howpitals, airports and much more. It can make one save upto 75% of the energy bill. At the moment we are also working on a OWAC technology based greenhouse project which should make it possible to grow main vegetables and herbs on Caribbean islands year round, preventing expensive import and opens doors to healthy food affordable for everybody.
