The Cabo Santa Maria was a cargo ship built in 1957, part of the “Cabo” series operated by the Spanish Lineas Ybarra. It transported goods and passengers between Europe, Latin America, and Africa. The ship became famous after it ran aground near Boa Vista, Cape Verde, in 1968, where its wreck still remains as a popular tourist attraction.
