This gloomy and difficult day, we bring you an interesting story about one of the most famous painting by Ilija Bašičević Bosilja-Bačinački brest. As a young man, Ilija was a shepherd. He spent days and nights in the Bosut forests. In those nights, shepherds talked the stories. Ilija listened to stories, real and even more often unrealistic. And the story goes like this: During the First World War, a soldier returned from the front and somewhere near Sid, tired of walking, he lay down under an old tree. It was a famous Bacinacki elm. When he fell asleep, a group of girls in long white dresses appeared, and they played around him. One of them came and asked them to play, gave them bagpipe, and they played all night. When the first c***s were heard, the fairies disappeared, the soldier woke up, and in his mouth was a foot of a kid. And that's how the famous painting came out.

Near Berkasovo there are traces of the fortified city of Berkasovo, which is known in the sources as Castrum Berekszo. This fortress is also called Despotovac. There is very little information about the origin and history of this place. We know that she was in the possession of despot Vuk Grgurević and then his sons of the last Branković, Đorđe (monk Maksim) and Jovan. It is assumed that the fortress was completely destroyed when the Turks was penetrating these spaces. Berkasovo was erected on the same, partially artificial hill, which on the one hand turned to the valley, and on the other hand relies on a wavy plateau .

In all likelihood, the first written mention of Adaševci, a village in the Sid municipality, appears in 1330. They are cited as Agay, Aga, Agka, Agda, Ada.The question is, from where did this name come from, because of the "ade" (the island) on which the village was located, which there is no trace, except for the floods that were frequent in Adasevci . What exactly does the name Adaševci mean? Some believed that the name of Adaševci was basically derived from the Turkish word "Adas", which means "namesake", and it was concluded that the whole village was named after a man named Adaš and who was responsible for the establishment of this village.
