The idea behind Alterna Home Hostel is to provide a pleasent and comfortable environment for travelers to relax in and to make them feel at home during their stay in Novi Sad. Think of it as your alternative home (hopefully now the name of the place will start to make sense :) ). Adding to the sense od domesticity is the style of the hostel itself as it is based in the oldest neighbourhood in town-the city center. You can experience what it was like to live in typical Austro-Hungarian apartments with high ceilings and lavish decor from the early 20th century. One of the main perks of the hostel is the fact that its balcony overlooks Liberty Square (Freedom Square, Trg Slobode) with a stunning view of the City Hall, Name of Mary Church, Zmaj Jovina Street and the entire squre itself. You can savour your first morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the City's main sights, or use it as a VIP box from which you can enjoy many concerts, markets and special events organized on the square all year round.The bedrooms are soundproofed so you can still catch a good nights sleep.

We are a relatively small hostel nurturing a more intimate environment where our guests can enjoy both privacy and a more social setting, depending on their preferences. There are two fully furnished private apartments with their own kitchen and bathrooms, two dorm style bedrooms with bunk beds, and a private room with a shared bathroom. Feel free to make use of our big, fully equipped kitchen and the shared common area for relaxing and socializing. Welcome!
