Presentation Forms and Topics
Various forms of presenting are welcome: Lecture, Lecture-Recital, Recital (solo, piano duo/duet, chamber group), Masterclas
s and Demonstration. Conference is interested in a variety of areas such as: Performance, Teaching, Performance Practice, Composition, Music Technology, Music Administration, New Music, Music Theory and Analysis. While presenters may choose topics related to various composers’ anniversaries, the WPC does not impose any specific conference subject. Presenters focusing on specific topics are welcome at the WPC: Jazz, Suzuki, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Alexander Technique, Special Needs and Disabilities (Autistic Spectrum/Asperger Syndrome, Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, Blind/Partially Sighted Musicians). In Absentia Presenting
If you would like your presentation to be heard at the WPC, but cannot attend the conference in person, you can opt for an "in absentia" presentation by sending us a prerecorded presentation. We accept CDs, DVDs, PowerPoints, standard texts (to be read by our speaker) or any other reasonable in absentia format to be included in the Conference program. Masterclasses
There are two Masterclass formats:
a) Public Masterclass – an official/public WPC presentation in the form of a masterclass, held in the concert hall before an audience;
b) Special WPC Masterclass – masterclass held in a studio/classroom, intended for WPC presenters to engage in pedagogical contact with local piano students. This program was created due to a popular demand by WPC presenters, in order for them to meet local piano students and teachers. Young Concert Platform (YCP) and Amateur's Concert Podium (ACP)
YCP and ACP are special events, designed for young presenters and amateurs, providing them with concert platform for their performances and advancement. WPTA International Piano Competition (WPTA IPC)
WPTA IPC (a member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation) is a competition with a real difference; our mission is "Putting pianists where they belong - on the stage!"
Laureates will be featured as high-profile concerts at the annual World Piano Conference. The auditioning process is unique as competitors send us their recordings or audition live (auditions available worldwide). In this way competitors avoid the expense normally associated with travelling to international piano competitions. It also eliminates the stress of the live competing atmosphere, enabling pianists to select their best performances for us to hear. In addition to their concert platform they will benefit from free masterclasses with world-class musicians and have access to all events in the World Piano Conference. The WPC provides the perfect opportunity to network and make musical contacts all over the world. The annual application deadline is March 31 and awards will be realised at the subsequent World Piano Conference (June 27 - July 3 each year). The announcement of laureates will take place on April 15 each year. Complete details are available online at www.wpta.info/ipc.htm
We look forward to greeting you in Novi Sad and thank you in advance for your time and professionalism invested in preparation for these important events. WORLD PIANO CONFERENCE (WPC)
