Hi, we are happy to announce that our colleagues from CENCIRA have just arrived, and we’re officially kicking off our secondment together! 🌍✨

This marks the beginning of an exciting collaborative period within the PUREWAY MSCA project, where we’ll be working side by side on the selection and classification of fruit and vegetable waste (FVW), exchanging knowledge and combining our expertise to better understand and systematize these complex matrices.

Looking forward to productive days, new insights, and great results together. Let’s get started! 💚♻️🔬

Zero Waste Starts on Your Plate🌍

For this year’s International Day of Zero Waste, the focus is on food - what we eat, what we waste, and how we can do better.

Every year, around 1 billion tonnes of food is wasted. Most of it (60%) happens in our homes.

Reducing food waste isn’t just about saving money - it’s about protecting our planet and building a more sustainable future.

💡 What can we do?

• Plan and use food wisely
• Store and prepare meals mindfully
• Support food sharing and composting

A zero-waste future starts with everyday choices.
Value food. Don’t waste it.♻️🍀

We’re happy to share that today we had a new TV recording 🎥

The conversation focused on the role of circular economy in transforming waste into valuable resources ♻️ with a special focus on developing sustainable pigments and their potential use in the food industry 🍓🫜🫐

Stay tuned… 👀✨

As part of the mobility activities within the PURE-WAY project, PhD student Petar from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade has started his secondment at our project partner institution, INRAE. 🔬🧪

During his stay, Petar is working on the selection and application of bacterial strains for fermentation, a key step in the waste valorization process within the PURE-WAY project. Fermentation plays an essential role in maximizing the utilization of food waste and by-products, enabling enhanced recovery and bioactivity of valuable compounds, in line with the principles of circular economy and green chemistry. 🦠🧫

We wish Petar a productive, inspiring, and successful secondment! 🍀♻️
