The GroundUp Project EU Mentoring Programme is looking for motivated students, researchers, and early-stage innovators ready to develop their concepts with expert support and strong international connections. The programme is designed to help participants strengthen their ideas, build business thinking, and connect with the wider European CBRNE innovation ecosystem.
This opportunity is for individuals and teams of students, graduates, researchers, and young innovators from the Southern CEE region (Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro) who are working on a CBRNE-related innovation concept and want to take it further.
Applications are open until 17 May, 2026.

At the Hackathon in Budapest (21 March 2026), 22 young innovators across 7 teams came together to tackle CBRNE challenges and turn bold ideas into solution-driven concepts for a safer society. π
With participants from Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, and Hungary, the event fostered strong cross-border collaboration, combining academic talent with real-world challenges in public safety, environmental protection, and crisis response.
Through mentoring, hands-on hacking, and pitch development, teams refined their ideas into impactful project proposals, taking a step closer to the GroundUP mentoring programme.

The Hackathon 2026 has officially come to an end! π
The Serbian Hackathon took place in Belgrade on 28 March, organised by , at the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies. The event brought together 8 teams of talented students, researchers, and young innovators who tackled real-world CBRNE challenges, delivering creative ideas and impactful solutions.
Out of 15 teams from both the Serbian and Hungarian hackathons, the jury selected SENTINEL NET as the winning team. Congratulations! π
A big thank you to all participants, organisers, and everyone else who made this event such a success. It was an inspiring and unforgettable experience! β¨

The Serbian Hackathon took place in Belgrade on 28 March, organised by Institut Vinca, at the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies. The event brought together 8 teams of talented students, researchers, and young innovators who tackled real-world CBRNE challenges, delivering creative ideas and impactful solutions.
