ACT meeting in Woodley

On 10 June, ACT volunteers met with ACT trustees Jay Jeyaseelan and Rashila Pankhania

It was a productive meeting, with many ideas discussed on how to expand the impact of the work being carried out in the area.

Jay and Rashila expressed their appreciation for the dedication and efforts of the ACT volunteers in Woodley. They congratulated the team on their recent award and commended their consistent collaboration with various charities and community organisations.

During the meeting, Jay and Rashila also shared insights into the wider ACT platform and explained the work being undertaken globally. This provided volunteers with a broader understanding of ACT’s international impact and how local initiatives contribute to its overall mission.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate achievements, exchange ideas, explore future initiatives, and strengthen ACT’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.

Yet another beautiful experience. Who is it this time? Ah, Jumri Patel

What did she do?

She simply sat with someone in need, listened with care, and offered a gentle hug.

Sometimes, the simplest ACTs of kindness can have the greatest impact and completely brighten someone's day.

What's your One Positive ACT a Day?

Litter picking in Woodley
Woodley Adopt a Street Project (WASP)

On 30 May, our youth members were out in the community helping to clean Woodlands Avenue, an area adopted by ACT Foundation UK in Woodley.

This act of community service was carried out in collaboration with the Woodley Town Council and the Woodley Adopt A Street Project.

Joined by a friendly four-legged companion, the young volunteers dedicated two hours to cleaning the street and making a positive impact on their local environment.

Woodley Summer Carnival

As soon as we entered the Woodley Carnival grounds, one of the committee members warmly said, “Aha, ACT Team! We are very happy to see you all here.”

This recognition has come through consistent work, dedication, and selfless service.

On Saturday, 13th June, a huge crowd attended the Woodley Carnival. Many people visited our ACT Foundation UK stall, spoke with us about possible future collaborations, and shared beautiful ideas on how we can expand our reach and serve more.

Councillor Darren Smith, the Town Mayor of Woodley, also visited our stall, enjoyed the vegan food, and wished us well with our fundraising efforts.

It was a fantastic day of outreach and a wonderful fundraising opportunity. All the food we prepared was sold out, and we raised more than £200 for our charity.

With gratitude and renewed energy, we now look forward to our next outreach and fundraising opportunity on Saturday, 20th June, with Winnersh Parish Council. We are grateful to be invited by them for the second time to raise funds for our charity.

Recognition happens through consistency. Service opens doors. 🙏❤️

This month, members of the medical team from Hillingdon NHS joined Shyama in preparing meals for those in need.

It was wonderful to see them serving the community in a different capacity. Their compassion, dedication, and willingness to help others are truly inspiring and reflect the values they bring to their work every day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and made a positive difference in the lives of others. Your kindness and commitment to the community are greatly appreciated. 🧡🌹

A heartfelt thank you to a generous donor for donating 20 sleeping bags and 2 tents.

Rashila Pankhania made this donation to WHP on the donor's behalf. Your kindness will make a real difference to people experiencing hardship. Thanks to your generosity, individuals who were sleeping on cardboard now have warm sleeping bags to help protect them from the cold, along with tents that can provide much-needed shelter.

Your support brings comfort, dignity, and hope to those who need it most. Thank you for making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable people. ❤️

If you want to make any donations or have any questions please reach out to Rashila 🧡💛🤍
