MIPEX-06 is an ultra-low power NDIR sensor in the standard Series 4 housing. Its developed for automatic continuous measurement of methane (CH₄), propane (C₃H₈), and carbon dioxide (CO₂) in explosive atmospheres.

MIPEX-04 ppm and MIPEX-05 ppm are high-performance NDIR sensors with 10 ppm resolution. They are designed for the simultaneous measurement of ppm and %LEL concentrations of CH4 and CnHm within a single measurement channel.
Ultra-low power consumption (averaging below 0.3 mW), explosion-proof design and high measurement reliability make these sensors ideally suited for integration into wireless fixed and portable battery-powered devices for long-term autonomous operation without recharging, minimizing the cost of ownership and maintenance in remote and hazardous areas.

Can an MIPEX optical gas sensor be recalibrated by the user for a different gas, for example, a methane (CH4) sensor for propane (C3H8)?
The accuracy of measurements depends on the gas the sensor is calibrated for. In production, each sensor is calibrated for a specific gas – for example, methane or propane – and its individual calibration characteristics are stored in its memory. User calibration (two-point calibration) helps to correct current readings but does not replace factory range calibration. If you plan to use the sensor with a different gas, please contact us, and we will help you find the right solution.

Traditional gas sensors are characterized by high power consumption, and as a consequence, they quickly deplete the power source's lifespan. The MIPEX technology fundamentally changes this situation by ensuring that the average current does not exceed 65 µA and peak currents in pulsed mode are limited to 2 mA, which is critical for battery-powered sources with high internal resistance.
As a result, devices equipped with MIPEX family sensors can operate for at least 24 months without maintenance or recharging, which is particularly valuable for remote and hard-to-reach locations, thereby reducing operational costs.
