Ascension Day 2026 is on Thursday, May 14th. It is a major Christian feast day celebrated 40 days after Easter, marking the belief that Jesus bodily ascended into heaven to take his seat at God's right hand. It signifies the end of Jesus's earthly ministry and the empowerment of his followers.

140TH LABOUR CELEBRATIONS
The international holiday is observed on May 1st. It is most commonly associated as a commemoration of the achievements of the labour movement.
The holiday may also be known as International Worker's Day or May Day and is marked with a public holiday in over 80 countries.
The 2026 International Labour Day theme in Cameroon is "Social Dialogue and Decent Work: A Factor for Peace, National Cohesion, and the Economic Development of the Enterprise".
This theme highlights the need to strengthen communication between workers and employers to ensure stability, growth, and improved working conditions.

MEET THE MISS CROWN OF PEACE 2026 - 2ND RUNNER-UP
Shey Bisahnyu Lenzy is a passionate tech advocate from the Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
She holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Bamenda and brings both technical expertise and a deep love for her community to everything she does.
She strongly believes in leveraging technology-driven approaches to uplift communities and actively champions digital literacy through workshops, capacity-building sessions, and hands-on mentorship for young people in tech.
Looking ahead, she is committed to integrating technology into the agriculture sector while expanding her mentorship reach.
She views CAMCUDA as a powerful platform for change—one dedicated to peace and sustainable development—and believes it will amplify her advocacy, as well as that of her fellow queens, carrying their voices to wider audiences.

MEET THE 1ST RUNNER-UP- MISS CROWN OF PEACE 2026
Banen Yengue Naomie Ekon is a proud young woman of Bassa heritage from Yabassi in the Littoral Region of Cameroon. She is currently a final-year Software Engineering student at the University of Buea, driven by a strong passion for innovation and meaningful impact.
Her advocacy centers on digital empowerment, with a focus on equipping young people with practical, relevant skills for today’s digital world.
Through her initiatives, she provides guidance on CV building, LinkedIn growth, basic graphic design, and effective online job search strategies.
Naomie has actively contributed to community development by participating in and facilitating design bootcamps in collaboration with ICOTEL and the Alpha Females Community.
She recently launched her own initiative, the Knoxii Creative Series, a platform dedicated to empowering young creatives with hands-on graphic design skills.
Looking ahead, she aims to expand her impact through structured workshops and mentorship programs that foster skill development and opportunity creation.
Her vision aligns closely with organizations like CAMCUDA PROJECT , whose commitment to cultural integration, capacity building, and sustainable community impact she deeply admires.

THE FACE BEHIND THE CROWN - MEET MISS CROWN OF PEACE 2026
She is Bellvanni Makane , a 21-year-old born and raised in Douala. She is a final-year Performing and Visual Arts student at the University of Buea, where she blends artistic expression with meaningful social impact.
She is a passionate youth leader driven by purpose, creativity, and service. Through pageantry, she has discovered a powerful platform to inspire change and uplift her community.
Her advocacy, “Peace through Agriculture Empowerment,” promotes farmer visibility through CAMCUDA’s activities while strengthening support systems for sustainable agricultural growth.
She has led school campaigns on waste management and actively engages farmers to encourage youth participation in agriculture.
Looking ahead, she aims to expand farmer support initiatives, use her voice to amplify CAMCUDA’s mission, and empower young people through capacity-building programs.
To her, CAMCUDA represents peace, unity, empowerment, and sustainable development—and she is ready to be its voice.
